Wel lhello.ive just joined this happy band. im looking for people who live in or around Essex ,I would like to arrange for anyone who would like to travel either in
a group or with a companion..it would be good to meet up and have a chat and a glass or two ..please contact me here,x
Response from RoC made on 16th Oct 2016 16:18:24
I'm in Sudbury, (my house, bungalow actually, is just over the Essex border, half the the garden is in Essex & the other in Suffolk, it's not that big ) the reason I mention that is, I don't tend to drive that far ( half an hour-ish since I lost my husband,
Anyway I may be a bit too ancient (76 ) for who you're looking for in a travelling companion but I like company of all ages & love to travel, plus of course talking about travel over wine / coffee !
Response from KEITH_WL made on 16th Oct 2016 18:35:33
Oh please don't say that (too ancient), RoC. I'm 76 too!

Hi, rather disappointed as no takers so far for a travel companion to Sri Lanka, Kerala or Baltic Countries!

Having recently retired I have been thinking of supplementing my income which is not great with Paying Guests at a reasonable cost.

I live in a valley in Andalucia between Malaga and Marbella inland, 15 minutes by car to the town and beach, bus stop at end of drive but I drive into Town each day as I enjoy coffee and tapas and the opertunity to chat as I live on my own but family members nearby, enjoy cooking so happy for you to eat with me and join me on outings as would be happy to help you to explore more Spain. Please message and ask me any questions that you may have.
Response from RosaLee made on 8th Aug 2016 05:49:28
Hello Campolady, I would like to visit you, I am also a retired lady, and would be interested in coming to Spain.
Response from Lindylootoo made on 8th Aug 2016 09:58:35
Hello Campolady. Are you anywhere near Nerja? I'm interested visiting there as it appears to have lots going on and a great area for walking.
Response from Capricorn made on 19th Aug 2016 10:53:04
Hi campolady, I normally would not want to holiday with someone I did not know , but I have friends in SriLanka and would love to go there and meet them , but the long haul flight has put me off. Kerala too is supposedly worth a visit.. Before I committed myself I would have to meet you Maybe meet up in Spain for a few days to get to know each other a bit ....what do you think ? .
Response from dolcevita made on 15th Oct 2016 13:22:25
Hola Campolady I would love to visit that part of Spain and its beautiful surroundings.
I am a retired lady with a younger outlook from Leeds. Is January 17 ok with you?
Please get in touch. Ciaooo

Where are you hoping to travel to Larry?
Response from Capricorn made on 16th Aug 2016 18:41:09
I think it can be a bit risky travelling with someone you don't know. What about if you both arrange to meet in a Singles Club in the U.K. for a long weekend. That way you will know whether you will be compatible travellers., and saved yourself a lot of money . .
Response from KimFh made on 24th Aug 2016 12:59:27
Looks like he has been scared off, no doubt he would have met the lady first and wouldn't just be meeting her at the airport.
Response from pansypotter made on 25th Aug 2016 07:42:45
Tell me a little about yourself where you would like to go and what type of holiday you are interested in everyone on here seems so diverse in what they are actually looking for and finding the right person to go away with seems harder than I thought
Response from dolcevita made on 15th Oct 2016 13:02:55
Hello - Are you a female who is looking for a lovely holiday in a beautiful country and have a driving licence? I am a retired single lady who is planning to go to Italy by car around end of March 17. Leaving from Leeds Yorkshire for about 8 weeks.

Hi, Angie. I'm not a potential travel buddy, but let me mention some destinations and lodging strategies that might improve your visit. If you'll be traveling in November-December, snow storms can severely disrupt your travel. Might be wise to stay south. Compared to European cities, ours are pretty mediocre by way of museums and historic buildings. But New Orleans, San Antonio, Santa Fe, Sedona (Arizona), and of course San Francisco and Carmel, California, are worth a visit. Our national parks are the nonpareil, and within most of the older national parks you can find historic and reasonably priced lodging, often with trail heads virtually at your doorstep. But these places book very early, so if I were you I'd narrow down a list of national parks and book the stately older lodges within the parks. Phantom Ranch down at the bottom of the Grand Canyon would be an experience of a lifetime, perhaps with a canyon rafting trip to get there. My favorite parks in the Southwest are Mesa Verde, Zion, and Bryce Canyon. Monument Valley, on Navajo land at the Utah-Arizona border, is spectacular but lodging there is mediocre and overpriced. You can do a drive-through; watching the sun go down on Monument Valley's mesas and buttes is unforgettable. For city lodging, try Air BnB. Often much cheaper than inner-city hotels, and the hosts are usually quite hospitable.
Response from Sunshine2017 made on 3rd Oct 2016 23:27:30
I may be able to get away for travel west to some of the national parks mentioned in the previous response. I live in the mid west and can take about a week or more off in late October early November.
Response from Lindylootoo made on 7th Oct 2016 17:56:22
Hi Angie
I also have a severe travel bug. Am just back from Turkey and have my next trip planned to Italy in two weeks time. In January I've booked three weeks in Goa - happy to have someone else along if that's of interest. Am also in Southern England. Linda

Hi !
I'm in my 70's & just back from my 1st holiday alone since losing my husband 18 months ago, I chose a place we'd been to together in the past ( Dubai ), I think it was an expensive mistake, the journey was fine, daytime was fine but the evenings not enjoyable at all, I'm so used to sociable meal times, I found this part really difficult.

I therefore think I'm going to try & find a travelling companion, male or female, don't mind, not too spend every minute of the day but certainly evenings it would be nice to share a drink & a meal with someone .

I might have to expand the desired destinations, as The Maldives were our holidays of choice, the single supplement is probably going to put this out of my reach except for off peak dates.
So maybe to start with, city breaks would be a good idea, anyone interested ??

I don't smoke, drink lightly if at all, exercise daily, scuba, dance and laugh often. Can spend the day alone reading or with my roommate...if interested in cruise contact me at [email protected]. thanks
Response from Sunshine2017 made on 3rd Oct 2016 23:31:15
Hi Sarah: I am looking for a cruise companion as well, but Oct, 28 is far too close for me to plan to be off from work. With some advance notice it may work.
Am interested to hear where you live in India- I go back to Bangalore every year and am going there again early December for 3 weeks.
I think it will be good to meet if you are in India at the same time in december.

I'm new on this site, I love traveling and I'd like to go to Europe or anywhere else next year. I work in a college like a tutor and I prefer to travel in August and December. Traveling along is more expensive, so I tried to cut down on expenses.

Hi, like so many others, since being widowed, I am fed up paying double for a holiday. So would like a travel companion, to share a cabin. My favourite holidays are cruising, but don't really mind, although I am not good with beach holidays. I am now looking to book another cruise either a fly cruise to the Caribbean (January, starts & finishes in Barbados calling at 10 islands) or one to the Artic Circle (next month if they have a cabin) Please let me know if you are interested. Also I am interested in other holidays if someone needs a companion, I often travel with friends but as they mostly a lot younger than me they are not retired yet. Also I would love to go back to Canada, but this time do the west coast or the Rocky Mountaineer, USA and Alaskan cruise.
Response from Fflorielle made on 21st Jun 2016 08:00:24
I am also a widow who likes cruising but I have done The Artic and the Caribbean how about a Fly Cruise to Australia and new Zealand in November

Hello Happy Cruiser.
I have recently joined this website hoping to find a travel companion, and like yourself,
enjoy cruise holidays....... but not the single supplements.
I had already thought about an Alaskan cruise and Rocky Mountaineer train to Banff.
Would also be interested in visiting the Far East at some time.
I live near Birmingham in the West Midlands........ hope to hear from you.
Response from Jane99 made on 3rd Oct 2016 23:19:33
Would like to do Canada late 2017. Please message me.

Hi, I live in Dorset UK and I'm 59 years old married male, my wife no longer wishes to travel because she feels unhappy with the security around the world and no longer wishes to fly abroad. I'm looking for outgoing travel buddy male or female to accompany me on a holiday sometime around February 2017 possibly Canaries or somewhere warm. I'm very easy going and I have no agenda, I'm not keen on lying on a beach all day and prefer to get out and about exploring towns, markets and generally chilling out, obviously we would need to meet up and see how we get on and if we feel comfortable in each other's company then maybe we could take things further and discuss where we'd like to go. All costs would be shared throughout the holiday within reason although I'm not going to split down to the last penny. If you find yourself in a similar situation or just would like to travel with someone who will look out for you and have some fun, please get in contact and let me know.
