If you were American would you vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton?Yes Pamflower I can't believe there was no one in the American or whatever , did not want to stand. Actually , the system of voting is rubbish , look how long it takes to arrive at a conclusion , everyone is brain dead and the contenders arguing instead of letting Joe Public what they intend todo for theCountry if they are elected.. I suggested this a few weeks back. There are 52 States, have one person from each State, the State with the lowest vote drops out. Another State votes and the one with the lowest vote drops out. This happens every week and the loser of that State again drops out.It is a better way of cutting expenses and much less boring LOLViewDate:

If you were American would you vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton?Hi John Herb, Is there any Leader in Britain or America who is worthy of the name???? Trump is a joke , but who else is there ? Hillary is tainted and hardly commanding is she ? Trump is a joke but more likely to put Putin in his place. Who said a Country only gets the Government it deserves. ??? The days of Churchill, Maggie Thatcther, and Attlee are long gone.ViewDate:

BirdwatchersI presume you live in wisconsin?? Sorry, I live in Wales and have a Birdbath in the Garden that I love watching . LOL Yesterday there was one pigeon using his beak to move his breakfast away from the Birdbath , I don't know where he was going. LOL . Birds are very sensitive and fly away if you try to get near them. Do you birdwatch with binoculars , what Birds do they have in Wisconsin.?ViewDate:

Grumpy cornerMy gripe is political. Let's face it Trump is like a barrow boy, can you imagine him at a Conference of World Leaders? ? Hillary is not exactly squeaky clean .....yet they have captured the Press and T.V. and World affairs get's a cursory mention.ViewDate:

If you were American would you vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton?I think whoever wins the Election will not halt the downward spiral in America . America was the Country most respected , but since Obama, who has proved nondescript as a Leader, the current Contenders are even worse .ViewDate:

Looking for a cruise companion to share accommodation costsI will be going to America , invited by my American Friend I met on a cruise a while ago . We both liked having a little flutter in the Casino and swapped e-mail addresses. I was invited to join her Family for Thanksgiving and will be going again in November so will not be making any more Holidays for a while.ViewDate:

If you were American would you vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton?Have you ever watched a serious "debate " shown around the World turn into yah boo Politics? The USA has always been the Worlds' Policeman and Defender, but not any more . They have whittled down the remaining contenders , nothing to choose between them . America , be afraid !!! At a time when the World is in chaos the USA needs strong leadership to help the people , not themselves.ViewDate:

Do you think we’re facing chaos now we’re leaving the EU?Hi Wilf, Germany has 1.5 million immigrants and having a lot of trouble with the boy immigrants molesting the girls. Sweden , who went out of their way to make their immigrants welcome has the same problem. IInitially Merkel took in so many to help with the labour needed in Germany, that is not the case any more. Several Members of the EU have not made any plans to take in migrants or donate to the kitty. Merkel and Juncker will not make it easy for Britain to leave and May will need to have a very strong negotiating team, plus no interference from big Business , you are right the small Countries are finding it hard to cope .....is there any Country that has a healthybank balance???ViewDate:

Do you think we’re facing chaos now we’re leaving the EU?I am concerned that our new PM , unlike Maggie Thatcher, will not be able to stand up to the EU. As a Home Secretary she was not very effective and is not eager to set a date to start negotiations . Cameron tried and failed to get any success , in fact he was talked into putting millions into the kitty to pay Turkey to take in immigrants from Greece which was overloaded. Cameron and Osborne even lent 1 million Euros to the EU Bank !!! It will need a very knowledgeable Team to negotiate with the EU , Merkel andJuncker will not want to lose their top contributor to the EU. I sincerely hope Britain Leaves ....in factI wouldn't be surprised to see the EU fall apart .ViewDate:

Blue or Burgundy passports? That did happen Roof Top Crow , I can't remember what Paper , but the 3,600 had been allowed to leave while their details were being checked and they were never found. Probably the guy who nicked the 3,600 Passports was a staff Member and was going to to do Business with runaways. I thought Border Agency, should have been sacked , but they weren't just think how much more competent a returning Soldier from the Middle East would have been . I noted that the illegal young lads in trying to get into Britain via Container Lorries in Caais were well dressed, with mobile phones , trainers and jackets , no Parents in sight , were trainee ISIS recruits. Not only were U>K. Insurance Companies paying for the Container damage , but also the Contents. The irony is that Britain is to pay for the Wall !!!!ViewDate:

Blue or Burgundy passports? This "War" is like nothing we have known before and History will tell us that it was the US and Britain who started all this by invading Libya. Now that America has been "breached", the USA will be reluctant to getting involved in the Middle East any more . The UN is not going to get involved so Putin will be the only one to defend a Country like Syria which is decimated.....what is he going to get out of all this???ViewDate:

Blue or Burgundy passports?Hi kennethkdj, I see a complete breakdown of the EU . now that America has been castigated for getting involved and been punished by having their own bombing , I think the US of A will keep out of the Middle East. Aid convoy to Alleppo was attacked and the cease fire for the enth time has been cancelled. What is it going to take to bring Law and Order to the Middle East.???ViewDate:

Grumpy cornerI meant to add that Cameron also gave away E1 billion towards the 6 billion paid to Turkey to take in more immigrants from Greece. I am convinced the EU will break up Merkel and Juncker have proved unfit for purpose and it will be interesting to see how purposeful she is when it comes to drawing up the exit agreement .ViewDate:

Grumpy cornerI can't get used to voting ABOVE my name and posted under "you are commenting ", lost in the ether now. I said it was EDF who will determine the price of Oil not individuals. The discussion was very informative and the concensus was that the Oil price would double ....at a time when Britain is not exactly rich with all the money the NHS is costing and more immigrants are coming here, plus the cost of the debt to China . I still think they could have waited until the water project was complete,, it was considered very promising.. I wonder if Cameron and Osborne will get the £1 million they lent the EU Bank, apparently ring fenced according to Osbrne.ViewDate:

Grumpy cornerActually Clarite , it will be EDF which will declare the price and the other energy providers which try to get cheaper prices , So we really don't have a say in pricing. This info was discussed on T.V. by a Group of Businessmen and Cameron was crazy to go along with such a debt ...no wonder he resigned as PM , he won't have to face the music when the time comes. Cameron and Osborne agreed to lend the Eu 1 million Euros, supposedly ringfenced.......why don't I believe that?ViewDate:

Grumpy cornerI agree JohnHerb......how come Britain hasn't had a caring PM since Winston Churchill, his evening broadcast to the Nation every night was legendary ..."we shall fight them on the beaches " was stirring stuff. I never understood whey he lost his job as PM at the next election. I know it's early days , but Theresa May did not make a good job at the Home Office and her acceptance of a massive loan from China was obviously not thought through , the taxpayer will be paying the cost forever, while the Trident underground only needed a service according to the experts.ViewDate:

Should the Government create more Grammar Schools?I passed the 11 plus exam , to everyone's surprise and went to Grammar school. The curriculum was more difficult but I enjoyed the schooling and I think there has to be a separation of those who are considered more likely to succeed than others. My Father was in Hospital for 2 years with TB , lost half a lung and could never work again . It meant taking me out of school at 15 to find a job to help the Family income. I didn't mind because I wasn't all that interested to go to UniversityViewDate:

Who would make a better President - Donald or Hillary?Morning annptf. poor you !1 just joking lol I have American Friends who live in New Jersey , been there 3 times , loved it. They think the British are mad to rely on Government for all their needs, they take out Insurance , got a point there . As for the Contestants , I do wonder why there is such a paucity of talent among both Parties. Neither of the 2 on offer show any imagination on how to put the USA to rights and if this bombing this morning is an ISIS doing it is a worry for the security of the USA.ViewDate:

Who would make a better President - Donald or Hillary?I wouldn't vote for either of them . What bothers me is that the USA is still a powerful Country yet cannot produce one President who is capable of good Governance. The bomb left in an affluent part of the USA detonated this morning causing many injuries shows the USA is just as vulnerable as any Country. Stop the grandstanding Hilary and Donald , I just hope that whoever wins will think about the people, not themselves. .ViewDate:

Blue or Burgundy passports?Hi kennethkdj, I couldn't agree more and starting to have misgivings about Theresa May , she is no Maggie Thatcher when it comes to fighting our corner and yet again is trying to stall on a date, to the annoyance of Juncker et al . P.S. I wonder if we will get back the 1 million Euros Cameron and Osborne "loaned" to the EU Bank a few months ago. Osborne at the time said the loan was "ringfenced"...whatever that means.ViewDate:

Blue or Burgundy passports?I renewed my Passport last year so would not want to have to purchase a new one and would prefer the money used for this change to be better used to stop the migrants getting in . When Theresa May was Home Secretary , Border Agency "lost" 3,600 immigrants they let leave the Airport while checking their visas etc. The 3,600 have disappeared into the ether. I would prefer the money to be spent on securing our Borders .ViewDate:

Grumpy cornerWhat possessed Cameron and now Theresa May to agree to a Nuclear Plant in Britain. We already have a submarine which just needed an overhaul . In a recent discussion it appears that EDF will be charging double what we are paying now for Electricity, we will be indebted to China for years to come for borrowing Billions yet the reporting on the Water solution has been completely discarded without even a thought that Britain is surrounded by water. Rant over.....I feel very strongly about this and no wonder Cameron has resigned from Politics, he was the one who agreed to borrow billions from China.ViewDate:

Do you support the Junior Doctor's latest planned 5 day strike?Hi 7woodys, I agree with you that one out all out is not the way to get your way , but Cameron gave Hunt the job of running the NHS because he was a good Businessman !!!! Had he appointed someone from the NHS these strikes wouldn't be happening . The NHS must improve it's accounting, but get someone who is already a Manager . As I have said , I only worked in the Clinics but could see the waste...this is another example. I was a Receptionist at the Clinic and one day a Senior Office Worker asked me to go to another Clinic about 10 miles away where there was to be a demonstration on lifting properly. I explained I was only a Receptionist and never lifted anything but told I had to have the teaching anyway. That cost 3 hrs extra Pay for working after my hours and a Taxi to take me to the Clinic where the demo was to take place.!!!!! The NHS needs a comlete overhaul , including prescriptions which could be bought over the Counter, we have become a Nanny state where the NHS is concerned and I would hate to see the Young Doctors leave the NHS , they do work hard and are on call , not just 9 til 5.ViewDate:
