Where are all the old people?!

Hi Everyone. New here and was wondering where are all the 70+ folks?

I see 50 year old people thinking they are old and I will be 70 this year and still feel middle-aged even if my body tells me different.

I am a widow going on 14 years this year. Just would love some simple chat.

Will I do?
I am 91 so you can say I am antique.
Been on the net for around 20 years now and been round the clock a few times. My bodywork is dropping to pieces and my exhaust has started to go but my headlights are still working.

Not many left now who have lived through being bombed out twice and machine gunned twice during WW2 but I would not change my life in any way.

If anyone would like to chat to an old biddy with many memories of the past 9 decades just let me know.

Wow, Maywalk, old friend. I am delighted to find you here. Small world isn't it. You know me from a couple of other sites which I am rather disenchanted with. Too much fighting over a lot of nonsense, I do not need this at all. But, so glad you are here. I'll send you an email shortly.

I laughed when I saw the question "Where are all the old people?!" LOL! Thanks for the laugh. True, age is nothing but a number. It all comes down to whether or not we invested in our futures as old people when we were young. I'm up for some simple chat, too, although I'm new and still slowly navigating SS.

Hi, PCB. Yip, I’m 69 yr old female and it’s difficult to find old people. I’m finding it difficult after I log out, to get back to the same place I was chatting in. Too many options
Response from Codymitz made on 23rd May 2021 12:38:28
Agree exactly. Happy to chat if I can find your reply (if any). I’m from Scotland, 69 yrs, female. Worked NHS admin for 44 years. Missing weekend trips and holidays just now

I agree - the most confusing forum I've ever encountered as far as navigation goes (so I probably won't encounter you again).

Well, I am what is termed as ancient here as I am 89. However, I am blessed with my full functioning faculties and keep myself updated on daily news so that I do not stagnate as so many seniors of my age sadly do. Of course in many cases, that often cannot be helped due to natural aging deterioration. I've led an active life both physically and education wise which has help enormously.

Hi There PCB

I make my home in downtown Toronto on the shores of Lake Ontario. I am also staring at 70 and have been widowed for almost 7 years. I usually travel quite a bit but with the pandemic, have been mostly at home except to see my family in Vancouver. Many of peoples’ comments get lost since it isn’t a website where you can easily see where you have been. Hope you get some responses here in the Forum.
Cheers,
Trillium

Finally have time to myself since I signed up. Thanks for commenting; no one else has except I guess the welcoming committee :). You are very far away and I have never been to Canada as far as that never out of the U.S. No pity party that is just the way it is. One of my daughters took me on some short visits in U.S. and that and for that I am grateful and we had a blast. But that is how we were taught back then (grateful). I live in Louisiana, always have. Pandemic, well I got vaccinated and while I do not want anyone in my face, I am no longer wearing the "MASK". I started back to the gym after a 10lb gain of pandemic shut-in! Honestly, sometimes other than family, I would just like to talk to someone, Thanks again.

Hi to you .
here is me hmm 70+ making most of current situation,
Have you found with this pandemic that a lot of people has lost their confidence in going out, it seems my socialising is on hospital appointments oh dear such gloom until I arrive, I think some other patients wish not as I chat about everything,
An amusing incident this week, door bell rang a lady from the florist stood there holding a very pretty basket of flowers
I asked her is it really for me who is it from was told message inside envelope
Suspense now increases opened envelope message read
I LOVE YOU XX. no name now my mind is in turmoil who would send me flowers like this still don’t know .
So I thought I would phone friends saying same thing to all thank you they are beautiful no one owned up florist sworned to secrecy as I asked was it female or male .
Still don’t now but flowers had the affect it was intended to do cheered me up after gloomy results.
I also asked some male friends what a load of old grumpies which left me feeling embarrassed. I only told them what was on the card not what I would say again to any man .nice if I could.
There is still chance for us young at heart in our 70+
I wish I could send flowers to all to get that smile on your faces that we all so desperately need.. love to all. Patricia x

To PCB
Sorry to hear that you have never travelled outside of the USA. There’s a great big world out there and you should try and explore different cultures. I have travelled all over the world and understand that each culture has something different to offer. You might want to travel to Canada first since the language is the same and it’s just across the border. It would be a good start. Life is short.
Cheers,
