Renewal of Blue BadgeNo its not fair it should be free or a token charge, but they have you over a barrel. Just remember this when the next election comes around Labour are determined to kill off the old and infirmed if you’re no longer of any use, you are bled of every last penny you have and then frozen to death in your own home.ViewDate:

Winter fuel allowanceThe problem as I see it is that many pensioners are too proud to as they see it ask for hand outs, although it is an entitlement they see it as a hand out and will freeze before asking for help. Also there are those that are not mentally capable of filling in the forms and many that are not even aware of the help on offer, some have no relatives that are willing to help or just live many miles away. Surely a far better way to tackle this would have been to withdraw the WFA to those pensioners that pay a certain level of tax, that would be the wealthier pensioners that this whole fiasco is supposedly aimed at. Labours own research suggest 4000 pensioners could die as a result of this, surely the job of any civilised government is to protect the people it serves and not to knowingly kill them. My point is that the government is knowingly sentencing pensioners to death, this is something I would expect from pol pot or Mussolini its called geronticide.ViewDate:

What are your views on TV Charity Begging Adverts? The one thing we can all do is give absolutely nothing to charities that advertise on TV, a lot of them are just a business. The word non profit making always amuses me, its non profit making because they pay themselves huge amounts of money along with luxury cars.ViewDate:

Winter fuel allowanceSenicide, also known as geronticide or gerontocide, is the practice of killing the elderly. This killing of the elderly can be characterized by both active and passive methods as senio-euthanasia or altruistic self-sacrifice. The aim of active senio-euthanasia is to relieve the clan, family, or society from the burden of an old person.ViewDate:

Winter fuel allowanceWhat sort of monster is running the country Starmer knows what the death toll is likely to be. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/winter-fuel-payment-cut-labour-deaths-b2609340.html Is it just a way to cut the pension bill? less pensioners less to pay out. Labour have obviously done the research and know how many pensioners they are likely to kill, If you knowingly cause a death is that not murder? 4000 deaths would it not be genocide?ViewDate:

Reform party - [DELETED_MEMBER]We cant let apathy rule the day, I’m sure the Syrian people had the same apathy in the decades of their tyrant ruler, but it only takes one person to start the ball rolling in the right direction to make massive changes happen. Maybe that person is Farage he’s done it once getting us out of the EU which was in itself a massive almost impossible achievement.ViewDate:

Are we alone in the universe? No we are not alone it would be very arrogant to think we hold some special place in the three trillion galaxies and countless stars and even more countless planets around us. Humans are so very ignorant when it comes to physics we actually don’t know what 99% of the universe is made of. Our brains just cant comprehend the mind boggling size of the known universe, I think it was Carl Sagan that said humans are unlikely to ever leave our solar system so inter galactic travel seems very unlikely. Why haven’t we been visited, the part of the Fermi paradox I find most likely to be the explanation is that civilisations that have achieved the technology for space travel have also reached the necessary technology to destroy themselves, which seems to be where humans are at the moment. I personally doubt humans will be around for much longer a thousand years if we are lucky. Dinosaurs roamed the earth for around 160 million years modern humans about 300,000 years didn’t take us long to wreck the place. You may find this interesting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fermi_paradox#Hypothetical_explanations_for_the_paradoxViewDate:

Astronomic rise in car Insurance.Unfortunately its now the way of the world, greed and grab. A classic example is the water companies they pay themselves and the shareholders big bonuses and dump the sewage in the river, when they get fined they put the prices up, so who is paying the fines not the people responsible? Auto renew is also a common tactic for over charging many people don’t even look at the renewal price which is mostly over inflated and far better deals are available, for me its not even about the money I just don’t like being ripped off. I could go on about rip off Britain, I’m afraid the general public are either too dumb or too lazy to do anything about it.ViewDate:

Astronomic rise in car Insurance. If you stay with the same company each year they will rip you off, most do it in my experience, I change my company every year and get a far better deal than I would have, as much as £300 sometimes. I use three price comparison sites, its a pain filling in all the details but once you have done it and saved your details to your account it will use those saved details every year you just need to update any changes. Same for house insurance, but you need a few comparison sites because one site doesn’t cover every insurance company.ViewDate:

Venting ~ Wish I can retire tomorrow!I retired early about 6 years ago never looked back love being retired. Things I have discovered is its a different life so forget the old routines that you used to have, find new interests and most importantly meet new people. If your on your own volunteer somewhere, charity shops are always grateful for help and offer plenty of interaction with people and if its not for you just walk away and try something else. The main thing is don't sit around feeling lost and depressed, one life don't waste it.ViewDate:

What are your views on TV Charity Begging Adverts?Children drink dirty water because they have no choice, drinking water polluted by raw sewage because they have no choice. Because the UK water companies pay the bosses and shareholders big dividends instead of using that money to treat the sewage properly and not dump it into our rivers.ViewDate:

Planning retirementI took early retirement 5 years ago I wish I had time to get bored, the days just fly past I really don't know how I ever found the time to go to work. No particular hobbies I read a lot enjoy long walks, I tend to redecorate the inside of my house in the winter and the outside and garden in the summer months, oldish house always needs something doing. I tend to look at my working years as chore that had to be done before I could enjoy life to the full. Yes it is completely different but in a good way, never understood people that say they miss work, why?ViewDate:

Taxing pensionersJust to be clear by not increasing the tax fresh hold if you have a small private pension along with the triple lock increase many will now have to pay income tax. So give with one hand take away with the other. Never ceases to amaze me the amount of contempt the privileged in society treat ordinary people with, even more amazing we let them do it. The prince Andrew interview on T.V shows the utter contempt they have for our intelligence, Andrew actually believed that we would accept that nonsense as truth. The water companies get fined for dumping pollution in our rivers then increase charges to the public to pay the fines, tax by the back door, meanwhile the bosses and the shareholders get a nice pay increase all on the tax payer. Taxes will increase to repair the intentional damage done to the NHS in order to drive people into money making private medicine, if you cant get insurance you can go and die, they don't care, its all about profits, what a terrible me, me, me society we are leaving for the next generation. To summarise the last 14 years of a Tory government have left in tatters. G.P services. Hospital Doctors. Hospitals. Dental services. Ambulances. Social care. Road infrastructure. Police force. Railway. School teachers. Schools. Housing. Most of the above you can have if you can afford to pay for them privately, otherwise tough.ViewDate:

Taxing pensionersWith the recent freezing of the tax fresh hold more pensioners will have to pay tax on private pensions. I have always voted Tory but never again, I am no fan of Starmer so will probably vote for the Reform party, people might think it is a wasted vote but if we don't begin to change things they will stay as they are. One thing I am certain of is we cant stand for the Tory greed and grab attitude any more when parents have to choose between heating or food for their kids, what a disgusting country the U.K. has become look around we are now a third rate country.ViewDate:

Anyone interested in witchcraft and magick? This is because logic and science have taken over from the occult. These type of beliefs and I include religion, have never had any evidence of existence just hearsay and myths. These were tales told in the dark ages around campfires when people were ignorant of science so had to make up gods and witches and other occult beliefs to explain things they didn't understand like thunder, lightening and earthquakes and other things that are now explainable by science. When I was a younger man I spent some time in Goa India I visited Anjuna market which was like being in a time warp 60 year old hippies that had been left behind from the 70s. While I was there The Indian rope trick was said to have been performed the strange thing was nobody I talked to had actually seen it in person just heard about it from other people. When I got back to my hotel (10 miles away) people had heard about it and asked me if I had seen it, this is how myths come about. What had actually happened a few people started telling people that they had seen it, people being people then claimed they had seen it although it never actually happened, Its called Chinese whispers. I think it was Christopher Hitchens said about the virgin birth in the bible, is it more likely that all the rules of nature were suspended, or a young girl lied about having sex, says it all. I have no objection if deluded people choose to believe in this type of stuff just don't try to say its true it isn't.ViewDate:

I don't want a Smart phoneMy wife thought pretty much the same thing about driving I asked her what she would do if I dropped dead tomorrow, how would she get anywhere, she took her test passed first time. Its more the ability to be able to use one that's important if you suddenly found yourself alone. Many things are online now banks, shopping and paying bills and will soon be completely online. Yes you could use a laptop, smart phones are just a small laptop anyway but far more versatile. I personally no longer have a landline phone just my smartphone, one less bill to pay.
