Where are all the old people?!Will I do? I am 91 so you can say I am antique. Been on the net for around 20 years now and been round the clock a few times. My bodywork is dropping to pieces and my exhaust has started to go but my headlights are still working. Not many left now who have lived through being bombed out twice and machine gunned twice during WW2 but I would not change my life in any way. If anyone would like to chat to an old biddy with many memories of the past 9 decades just let me know.ViewDate:

How do you cope with your aches and pains?Having just joined Silversurfers and reading Sally’s question above I can say that I do my best to stay on top of all my ailments by keeping my mind active even if my body is falling to pieces. Over the years I have averaged a broken bone about every two years. I have Osteoporosis plus Chronic Asthma and Epilepsy rounded off with Rheumatoid Arthritis and have a pacemaker. I keep myself occupied now at the age of 88 by writing my poems and answering the many folk who come to me for tales from WW2. I have written a book about the first 20years of my life that tells of me being cruelly treated by so called Sisters-of -Mercy and then being bombed out twice during WW2 during the London Blitz and machine gunned twice. I try not to take painkillers because the very strong ones I found caused blockage of the bowels. I just stick to Paracetamol now plus having a good giggle each day with the many folks who I am in contact with and I just live each day as it comes. Best wishes to all.ViewDate:

Has the internet changed the way we use language?I hate the shortened version of words such as CU ( see you ) and other various phrases. While I am still capable I will stick to my usual way of writing.ViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.Hello folk. I can’t say that I am a newcomer to Silver Surfers because I got involved many moons ago but this is the first time I have tried using the forum. I am an 88 woman who has been floating around cyberland for well over 15 years. I have a WW2 website that has been up for over 14 years that has made me many cyberfriends from worldwide. Since I lost my hubby in 2016 I have had many folks coming to me asking me for tales concerning the London Blitz because I lived all through it after being bombed out twice and then evacuated when I was around 11 years of age. I hope I will be able to join in various threads and I wish you all well.ViewDate:

Finding the right senior chat room for youI have been a Silver Surfer for some time but this is the first time I have ventured on to the forum. I have been very busy over the past decade with looking sfter my lovely hubby who had Dementia and passed away in 2016. I have also had many folks contacting me from worldwide wanting to read my WW Two tales because I survived the London Blitz. I will be 88 in May but unfortunately now disabled bodily but my brain is still agile. If anyone out there would like to contact me I will be happy to answer. God Bless All.ViewDate:

EvacueesI was an evacuee after being bombed out twice during the London Blitz. I was also machine gunned twice. Once in the hopfields and the other on the evacuee train. I wrote a book about the first 20 years of my life that takes in the Great Depression and the war years. All proceeds after printing costs taken out goes to my local Childrens Hospice. It is also on my WW2 website. I am 87 now but can still remember of various happenings years ago.ViewDate:

About SilversurfersI have known you for some years through the internet Keith and have receved many helpful e-mails in the past from you. Unfortunately I lost touch some time ago when caring for hubby who had Dementia. I still get many folks coming to me though for tales about WW2 and still dabbling with poems. Looking forward to browsing the site. -
