Do tailgaters bother you?

Maybe you travel quicker than me? Round where I live the roads have got busy, there's a lot of new houses going up, I suspect many of the inhabitants commute some distance by car. The result seems to be oblivious anxiety and frustration with anybody in their way - I even think it may be subconsciously done.

Maintain your speed... don’t be intimidated.
My dad taught me a trick many years ago... & it works.

Just switch your lights on & off. quickly... the flash of red is usually enough for them to get them to react.... or at least get the message.

They will learn.... one day.

As a side note... it’s dazzling in my rear view mirror that bugs me.

Many years ago my husband told me to gradually reduce speed if anyone was that close behind me until they got the message and pulled back, I find it works.

That is exactly what I do. It's really aggressive when people tailgate

If tailgaters bother me or become pests then I just stay within the legal limit and take extra time and care at junctions.

yes, must be worse for push bike riders.

regarding stress, a delivery driver called here y/day, since i now know him slightly i say 'how's it going' he replied he had 80 more deliveries to make.

funnily enough I don't think 'white van man' is the problem anymore,

we live in an afflent area and it is the jeremy clarkson types that are the worse.

and it's worse somehow with the current trend to drive huge monster vehicles, i'm sure they make their drivers more arrogant than ever.

glad i'm not alone, I don't actually own a car myself although i do drive the wife's sometimes. It bothers me less in her car, you can place the mirror on night vision which helps but it is still a nuisance. At nearly 68 i'm still hooked on motorbikes myself and it will surprise you that tailgaters bother me on that, it isn't a moped either but mid range four cylinder. I think traffic has got faster (and maybe I have got slower) but any ride out now is a mix, almost equally good fun and being hounded by aggressive driving. i think perhaps stress has something to do with it, when i retired four yrs ago things were going that way at work and, of course jobs are not as secure as they were.
