Should drivers over 70 re-take their driving test? You are right about the examiners not being able to cope Briber. The examiners are civil servants and their pay is a lot lower than driving instructors hence a lot of the former have started working as the latter which has made the issue even worse.ViewDate:

Should drivers over 70 re-take their driving test?I think youngsters tend to drive faster, especially young men . Older drivers have sight/hearing issues so their reactions are slower. Just facts of life really. Statistically, more accidents are caused by young men driving way too fast.ViewDate:

Do you support the 2.8% pay rise for MPs?Yes that could be a problem Billy as most probably do work from home. Well back in the day you had to go to the benefits office. I did in the winter of 1979 as I couldn't get a job so I applied to go on the dole. The office was so horrible and depressing and the process likewise that I walked out after 30 minutes and tried even harder to get a job which I did after 3 months of not working. That remains with me now and work gives you a purpose in life and for youngsters also a good days work never hurt anyone!ViewDate:

Do you support the 2.8% pay rise for MPs?I think it's a cultural thing as well Papa Bear. It's a cliche but when a man in a Rolls Royce drives past an American, he thinks I must work harder and perhaps one day I can have one. The average Brit is jealous and mutters about its not fair that other people have so much money.ViewDate:

Do you support the 2.8% pay rise for MPs?I think there have always been a lot of pretty hopeless MPs on all sides of the House Billy. The benefits culture seems to have been a mess for 50 years. I agree with you but interview all claiments in detail, they should cut out all the fraud.ViewDate:

Do you support the 2.8% pay rise for MPs?Apparently in the 80s a house was about 5x joint salaries in cost and is now 8X so much more expensive than back in the day. I think the media drives a lot of worries actually for the vast majority of people they have better lives than ever in history-we have food, shelter for most, convenience foods and no war-at least in the UK and lets hope that continues!ViewDate:

Do you support the 2.8% pay rise for MPs?All of western Europe and Japan as well have ageing populations so you are right I cannot be an excuse. The problem is it's real and as our population ages even more the shrinking younger generations will struggle to pay the tax bills for the NHS and all issues to do with a large ageing demographic.ViewDate:

Do you support the 2.8% pay rise for MPs?Its interesting about productivity as the Gov of Bank of England said today with a growing aging population and thus less working people as a percentage the only way to growth is efficiency and technology. He is bang on the nail. We need to start investing ever more in advanced trechnology, machines and engineering.ViewDate:

Do you support the 2.8% pay rise for MPs?I haven't looked at my pension but 1.7% increase when MPs are +2% cannot be right?ViewDate:

Do you support the 2.8% pay rise for MPs?I agree. I also think the government should use the proceeds of the lottery to go to cancer care and hospices etc.ViewDate:

Do you support the 2.8% pay rise for MPs?It does seem a bit stupid of the government to award MPs yet another payrise while barking on about cutting costs everywhere and going for growth. How about linking pay to performance? MPs would get a decrease in pay!!!ViewDate:

Should the government take stronger measures to protect teenagers online through legislation?AI is probably so powerful it is scanning everything now. Grok which is Xs AI apparently is "learning" from everything put on X. AI could even be looking at this post here! Strange new world! We are actually living in the SiFi world dreamt up in the 80s and 90s but its a lot more incredible. What next?ViewDate:

Should the government take stronger measures to protect teenagers online through legislation? That did strike us as well regarding the lack of discipline in the school portrayed. From what I hear from a friend's son who is a teacher at a secondary school in London it's the same there. What should we do? Kids should be learning in school instead we are creating more issues down the line.ViewDate:

Should the government take stronger measures to protect teenagers online through legislation?I agree the tech platforms could easily ban a lot of this harmful content- never mind for kids they should ban the whole lot. The Chinese do it why can't we?ViewDate:

Do you feel happy living in the United Kingdom?Overall I think the UK is quite a happy country. Most people still laugh and smile-go into any pub in the country and you will meet friendly folk. There are a lot of problems here but it's the same the world over and the UK is a lot richer and works much better than many other countries.ViewDate:
