What are your views on TV Charity Begging Adverts?
Watch this postOver a number of years there has and even more lately been endless adverts asking for money, from children through to animals and onto water and so on. Of course there are many reasons to give money but are we the only ones in England constantly being asked to give money even for other countries through out the world , even in disasters, I too willingly send money to the British Red Cross who do a marvellous job, where I know my donation will get to the most needy of people. But my main concern is why doesn't the governments of some of these countries try and help their own people instead of people here in England constantly being bombarded with begging adverts, what are your views regarding TV begging adverts, and at tea time too?

Also the woe is me for certain disabilities isn't a good thing as it paints all people with them disabilities in a bad light when there are plenty who live their lives happy and contented and don't want to be pitied.
With them in particular they should tell the truth, x person is living their life but with a bit of extra help here's what maybe improved!

I'm sorry but I would help my own people in my own country way before I help anyone outside, it's disgusting how these charities can bombard Our TV's with that many adverts that I have to turn my TV over.
Get these begging adverts toned down.
Enough is enough
I sure feel for the lad. But the UK people have been giving to Africa since I was a boy. Now 63. And they are still begging. Do their own country not do anything for them? I mean if the charities haven't sorted the problem in 63 years how much more do they want
I cannot understand why we are being asked to provide money to places like India which can afford a space program and has many billionaires. I know there is abject poverty there but that is the fault of the Indian government and is actually quite deliberate.
I never give to large charities . Why are there so many? We only need one cancer charity, on children's charity, one disaster charity, etc. In most cases these charities are run to provide jobs for the people involved. Like many of the large pharmaceutical companies they do not want to find a solution. Their interests lie in perpetuating the problems.
Most national charities are usually funded by central government anyway nowadays to further their own political agendas and not the good causes they once were.
I give to local charities where the results of their income is much more evident.
e.g. If you give £3 this person can have a cataract operation and you can save their eyesight.
How comes it costs £3 for the operation in.....(whatever land)..... but costs the NHS £1000's?
The subject of TV commercials is often children from areas of the world which have not idea of birth control. Charities have been "saving" children for decades and still need more cash. They have obviously failed. How can we be sure they won't continue to fail.
