Letham Friendship Network meet on a Tuesday morning between 10am and 12 noon for Tea/Coffee and Chat in the Letham Community Hub, Tweedsmuir Road, Letham, Perth. Activities can include Chair based exercise, Boccia, crafts, days out, dances, bingo, karaoke - anything we want to do and can arrange! We have monthly visits from children from the local schools and visits from outside groups. Due to demand a Knit and Natter group now takes place on a Monday evening between 6 and 7.30pm. There is no charge for our groups although a charge may be needed for some activities/outings. Donations for Tea/Coffee are always welcome though not required. We look forward to resuming our meetings when Government Guidelines permit. For more information contact Liz at 07754 658213

Hi I am a senior living in Highgate. Anyone out there who would like to write me about whatever they choose and later meet when the virus is contained?

Hello - hope that you are all able to enjoy your daily walk and that you are finding new hobbies and pastimes. What has been the most interesting books or films you have watched recently? Any history buffs out there in Silversurfland? Stay safe and well. Liz x

I'm sure most of you will know that the hedgehog is an endangered species. However, I am pleased to say that this year appears to be a good year for hedgehogs - if only in my own back garden. I've been feeding my little visitors for a number of years now and they are looking healthy and are very active at the moment. They give me an enormous sense of pleasure while watching their antics. I urge everyone to help them by feeding them regularly with cat / kitten food, dry or wet, but no fish flavours please and definitely no bread or milk as this will only make them ill. I recommend you do this as I'm convinced you will become as besotted by the little creatures as I am.

I have belonged to Silversurfers since 2014 and to find they have now set up this community page is very welcome particularly at this moment in time. I have belonged to various other sites and still am a member of some but for some obscure reason people do not seem to want to engage in an online local friendship idea. I have been lucky to have some online friendships of very many years but they are all over the country, we send an odd email, any funny jokes that come along, Easter cards, Christmas cards all online but in all those years only one local person in Norwich has emerged, could it be a better response this time I wonder?
