As there are no posts in Skegness Community, I will start. I spend all season at my caravan near Skegness and hope anyone near to chat to. I work from home 4 days a week and have a rescue Bull Terrier which I adopted 5 months ago just before lockdown.

Hello everyone I'm a key worker and up to 7 weeks ago I journeyed to work by car and not on the bus. It was wonderful! For the last 4 weeks I've been at home in isolation, and I'm going stir crazy! I'm waiting for a back procedure so have been partly bed bound. But, I did try bake a cake, from scratch. Ok, so I'm 65 years old and never had a reason to bake. My hubby is diabetic and I just look at a cake and put on 5 lbs weight. But I tried twice. The first time wasn't too bad, my hubby wanted a green cake. He was so surprised when I actually baked a green cake. I had to explain the icing was green and not the cake. We are both cake clueless. My two daughter can bake but choose to buy instead. I have now tried a few recipes. My friends have sent so many recipes, I couldn't possibly make them all! I have so many baking tins that my new found 'baking cupboard' is crammed full. To add insult to injury my darling brother asked if my last try was a pudding or a pie. How rude! Plus my back has had enough. So with my darling hubby's sigh of relief, I have hung up my baking tins.

There must be some other silver surfers who look on this page. What are you doing and where do you live? I live in Wootton and I love gardening, wildlife, reading knitting and chatting with friends and (pre pandemic) having coffee in a nice cafe.
