Ukraine war
Watch this postHi. I don't understand why Russia is being solely blamed for the war in Ukraine, surely Ukraine joining NATO is the same as the Cuban missile crisis in the 1970.
The U.S. president (I think Kennedy) threatened to invade Cuba if it allowed Russia to station missiles on its territory, Cuba being to close to the U.S. Ukraine borders Russia so allowing it to join NATO would put western missiles very close to Moscow.
Had Ukraine undertaken not to join NATO I doubt the Russians would have invaded. So I am really not sure who’s fault this awful war is, did NATO not provoke the Russians?

NATO was careful not to antagonise Russia, it is the case that Ukraine is not a member of NATO.
All wars end in peace treaties (negotiations) noting in passing that the Korean war (1950-1953) has not ended, there is an armistice in place.
This is all complicated by the fact that the war actually began in 2014.

my post is a response to cris1117, which I now notice was made some time ago.
This isn't about blame its about manipulation, its not about Ukraine its about the big players jockeying for position.
The only winner in all this will be China, Russian oil and gas will soon be banned in the EU so it will be sold to China instead, because nobody else wants it prices will drop, happy days for China.
The big worry at the moment is China will invade Taiwan while everyone is watching Russia this maybe the whole reason behind this war, win win situation for China.
The Chinese have been cosying up to Russia lately so its not hard to see them manipulating Putin and visa versa who will win the game we will have to wait and see.
I personally think that if the Chinese refuse to condemn the actions of Russia it says it all, the only way to end this is to force the Chinese to condemn Russian aggression by banning Chinese goods from Europe if they don't.
Think I have finally discovered how to use this site, I do enjoy these discussions but was on the verge of giving up on silver surfers.
Also - Ukraine is entitled to do what it wants - it is a sovereign country, Finland has applied to join, and you are not blaming them
If the world is to be global, then it needs everyone under one flag - One Vision, not 247 different countries with their own agendas
Russia to totally at fault here - affraid of the new world order, trying to maintain an archaic attachment to a failed past. no one wants communism
The planet would possibly recover in a few hundred thousand years but it would be an unimaginably different place, or a nuclear winter well may be the end of all life on earth forever.
If your familiar with the Fermi paradox we may well be fulfilling the theory.
For those that are not familiar with the Fermi paradox part of it is that alien life forms reach a level of technology which enables them to destroy themselves, about where we are now.
Hence why we never get to hear from them, they destroy themselves before they reach the technological ability to travel the vast distances involved for inter galactic travel.
