Looking for a travel companion 50-70 for short European trips initially, with perhaps some kind of activity (tennis, cycling etc), although this isn't absolutely necessary.

I would like to go somewhere warm next week but can I find anything I like, I don't want to go to a noisy hotel in Spain and places I have liked don't want a single. Just thought I would get that off my chest!

Has anyone ever organised a trip with a travel companion using this site? If so it would be good to hear about how it worked. Seems to be a lot of posts without any replies

I'm in the middle of arranging a trip to Australia with a lady on this site. Luckily both our dates coincided and we are both very similar and flexible. That's a big part of travelling with someone you didn't previously know. Not travelling until December but will post back

I am going this Saturday to Canada and Alaska with a lovely lady I met through this site. Have had a very limited response to my advert which was disapppointing but very pleased to have found a travel companion for this trip. We are doing a week's tour of the Rockies including the Rocky Mountaineer train and then a week's Alaska cruise. Will let you know how it went on my return. In the mentime if there I anyone out there who enjoys cruising, I would love to hear from you.

New to the board, a senior male, currently living in South Florida. I am looking to develop a
friendship with a compatible female travel partner who enjoys the more ecletic style of travel. Wine country trips, cultural endeavors, ethnic investigations, wildlife trekks, and those sorts of things.
I try to take two or three journeys a year and am looking now at a September or October run through the Loire valley perhaps on a barge - but open to similar ideas.

Obviously there needs to be some preliminary contact to establish a cordial working relationship. I am open to come visit in order to establish an introduction. I can meet anywhere in the US or Canada for that purpose, or I could fly to London for a few days to do the same.

Looking forward to chatting with like minded travelers.

I am new to this sight. I am a 64 year old retired man from Canada..... well travelled and in pretty good physical condition. I am just starting to plan an 8 week trip to the Scandinavian countries for later this year.... thinking sometime in the August to October time window. Looking into the feasibility of renting a small car..... having a travel companion would make the trip much more fun and make the car rental much more possible from a financial point... Any interest out there?

Paris in August 2017? I'm a single straight female from the US (California) who is looking for someone to pal around with while in Paris from 29 July to 21 August. I already booked a 1BR flat in the 2nd arrondissement and am open to sharing it with another female; gents would need to have their own accommodations. Taking short trips from Paris by train is also an option. Lyon? Loire Valley? Other? I have never been to France so it will all be new to me.

Newbie to this website, male, late 50’s. Slipped out of work and now have more time to travel. Much prefer company of women but companionship only is sought.
Have an itinerary for Southern Italy (Bari/Brindisi) taking in Trani, Matera, Alberobello and sophisticated Lecce, thinking Monday 29th May-Tuesday 6th June but some flexibility: any interest?
I’ve seen suggestions of travel clubs within posts. Is there one in south Bucks? Or good to set up? It would provide an opportunity to meet up.

I'm a 61 year old lady living in North London and retired from my job as a primary school deputy headteacher last Summer.

Although I have a wide circle of friends, I do not have anyone to holiday with. I enjoy cruising and would also like to visit the Canadian Rockies, go on the Rocky Mountainer train and an Alaska cruise.

I am an independent person, clean and considerate and would love to find a female ( between 50 & 70) to share a cabin / room to reduce costs and to have some company.

Please get in touch if you are interested. It would be good to meet up beforehand ( if possible).

Hello Bwf .....The Rocky Mountaineer train including Banff and an Alaskan cruise are on my wish list. ........ I am an early retired professional lady, non-smoker, living in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. I am usually reliable and easy-going and have been hoping to find a genuine travel companion. I have been on a number of cruises, and would like to see more of the world in this way. Hoping to hear from you and agree it is best to meet up before making any arrangements.
Response from Metime made on 25th Feb 2017 15:08:40
BWF

I was fortunate to to do this trip a few years ago. I was preparing to go alone when one of my friend asked to join me. Over 14 days we did a land cruise by coach around Banf and Lake Louise, Crossed the Rocky Mountains by train. We then boarded a Princess cruise ship and travelled the Tracy's Arm passage around Alaska .... It was one of the best holidays I've ever had and I'd go again in a heart beat. I hope you find a travel companion to join you on your travels as you will have an amazing trip.

Happy Traveling.

hello
i am also recently retired from primary school teaching - although still doing a little bit of supply - to fund further holidays. recently back for an Australia and New Zealand cruise. I did this with two other widows. i had a great time but they will not travel long haul again as they found it too much. I live in Worcestershire and am open to holidays anywhere. I travelled a lot when my husband was alive and am keen to continue doing this whilst I m fit and well!!
regards

I'm a 66 year old woman wanting to walk the coastal walk in Portugal to Santiago, about 600 kms. Not sure what that is in miles. I have walked Camino Frances , 3 times but my age + technology has taken away the need to walk alone. I am still searching , here in Canada, for someone I could meet before departure , but no luck so far. Would like to go in Sept/ Oct . I would also like to hear from anyone who has walked this Way. Thanks for reading from AC .
Response from Smoogles made on 12th Apr 2017 22:10:19
How long do you figure this walk will take? The Camino is on my bucket list.
Response from ACM made on 17th Apr 2017 23:14:17
I walked the Camino France's in just short of 6 weeks and that was 800 kms. Camino Portugal is about 660 kms , so I would guess 4 weeks + .
Response from buskerboy made on 19th Apr 2017 10:11:43
Hi,
I (64 year old male) will be doing the Camino from Porto to Santiago to Finesterre this June but will be taking the main route not the coatsal - but to be honest will make final decison when I get there. I have done the French Camino in three stages over three years - Leon to Santiago, St Jean to Burgos and Burgos to Santiago (with some detours). I will keep you posted, but am always open for walking companion.
I try and do a couple of long walks a year. Was thinking about the Colorado trail in September...anyone have experience of that?
