You should go somewhere more specific and you will find more companions to your next trip. Try going to Armenia, Georgia and so on. Going there with https://onewaytour.com/regular-daily-tours/ so take your chance.

Thank you for your suggestion Lussy Lou, However, the idea was to Miss part of our cold winter, and travel to a warmer climate, not a colder one. John.

Anyone interested in cruising during December, January or February. To Asia, Caribbean, Latin America, or suggestions. No restrictions on cost or cruise company. Alternatively somewhere land based that is warmer than the UK. Semi retired professional can travel any time. Live Bournemouth and willing to meet first if required, Southern area's. Fairly quick decision needed though because most Last minute breaks, especially cruises, that are advertised, are often gone within a few days.

I am planning a trip to Ottawa and onward to Iqaluit for Aurora Borealis. I guess this sounds like a bucket trip. Its an organized trip with Arctic Kingdom and lasts 4 days/5 nights. It would include dog sledding and Northern Lights tours Short but trip of a lifetime..
Response from Bea123 made on 26th Aug 2018 19:31:49
Hi I have looked on the arctic kingdom website looks interesting. Where do you live I live near Sheffield maybe meet up for a chat to discuss trip .

Hi everyone This is a long shot but is anyone interested in travelling to a place, so remote and definitely not the usual holiday vacation, very cold and the home of polar bears, penguins.reindeer and more Yes The Canadian Arctic principally Nunavut (check it out on arctic kingdom.com)
I travel in a wheelchair but am mobile with my aid I must add very quickly that I am not looking for a carer ( I am fully independent) but a confidence enhancer!! Think about it!!!

Hello everyone
I am a single 63 year old, happily divorced woman, who loves to travel. I still work (quite a lot) so to have a break between Christmas and New Year would be ideal (it is less expensive and, as my children are adults with adult children, they don't need me around!). Would anyone like to join me? We could get a group of singles together maybe?

A lot of hotels in the UK do a Twixmas deal, but we are probably a bit late for the bargains now. I am open to suggestions but maybe taking a car over to Dublin, or to France. I have previously met people through Gumtree. I had a really successful trip in Morocco with some Canadians of Chinese origin. Despite being 20 years younger than me we got on really well. I also did a week on a narrowboat with someone else I met through Gumtree. In my head, I am still 22!

I live in Bournemouth where I teach, but your location is not so important - I think we will know instantly if we will get on and I am very easy going. I really don't like smoking I'm afraid; I'm fairly fit and healthy (who doesn't get a few aches and pains!) I like a glass or wine but I'm not a heavy drinker and I like driving!

Message me with suggestions / ideas or just to express an interest.

Hi
I have just joined this site and was surprised and pleased to find a solo traveller section
I have been debating about going away for New Year and the choices were a local dance party or a holiday to Nerja which I went to for my 50th Don't fancy either and I am interested in your suggestion for travelling to france as I have only visited Paris. Dublin I visited for Paddy's day this year

I too am a non smoker and I walk in the peak district in Derbyshire so have to be fit for that I am a light drinker the odd glass of wine

I visited Bournemouth this year as have a friend who lives in Christchurch Lovely area She practices as a CBT therapist now as gave up teaching a few years ago

I think it would be an adventure to go away for New Year and I too am open to suggestions and free to go abroad and have a degree of flexibility with work

I live in S Yorkshire

Hello, I'm new at this. I am 62 and like to travel. Married 42 years but separated for 1 and 1/2 years. Finally getting a divorce.
How do I find a good and safe traveling companion?
Response from CaroleAH made on 7th Sep 2018 12:50:27
Hi Gigi, I would definitely want to meet up quite often with a prospective travel companion especially if you are trying to avoid the dreaded single supplement and so will be sharing a room or cabin. Go for a few meals etc - I can think of nothing worse than being cooped up with someone who is untidy or has bad table manners! I go away with my local U3A Travel group so I usually know everyone, at least by sight, but always book a single room so that I have my own space (and bathroom!) 🙂
Response from RobinJ made on 7th Oct 2018 09:10:10
Depends where you want to go? It’s challenging. I’m 56, an adventure traveler. Not many at my age doing what I’m doing.

any Females late 60 looking for travel companion next year 2019 cruise or Greece preferably live in Midlands to meet up and discuss,
Response from ChrisSom made on 30th Sep 2018 14:14:46
Hi dorice. I have been thinking about a holiday for next year but being put off by going on my own, its always great to share the experience and also when you go alone you are hit with the single supplements which are not good. I don't live in the midlands but not that far away, I have a car and meeting up would not be a problem. I have done cruises and also been to countries and stayed in hotels both I find enjoyable. Would be great to have a chat and see where it leads. If you would like to have a chat would be lovely to hear from you.

Response from Angel9uk made on 22nd Sep 2018 10:00:25
Hi, sorry about your sister. You're right to grab at life while you can as you never know what's around the corner!!! I'm sorry I can't join you on your trip but just wanted to say that I visited Chile twice whilst my daughter was studying there for a year. Lovely people and places. She travelled quite a bit around South America when she was there and loved it. Hope you manage to do it 🙂

I really like cruises but dislike the 100% single supplement.
I am looking at 15 Nights South America Cruise from Miami-Florida to San Antonio-Chile for from $649 plus flights with Norwegian cruise line. It returns on 22nd or 23rd Dec. and that must be why it's so cheap. I live near Winchester and I see that you are in Yorkshire. We could meet. Anyone interested in that cruise to experience the Panama Canal and 4 South American countries?
Best regards, Reader
