Hi everyone, I'm new here and looking for a travel companion as I used to enjoy going abroad but sadly find myself on my own now and not much fun travelling/eating out/sightseeing alone. I'm a young 61 year old lady living in the South of Scotland so would love to hear from those in the same boat who perhaps live Scotland or the North of England.
Response from BJ333 made on 25th Jan 2019 13:06:59
Hi, Maciboo, I’ve sent you a private message, at least I think I have, if you might be interested drop me a line...

Hello Abacroft,

I would like to have a similar aged (I'm 55)travel buddy on completely platonic friendship basis, I've been on cruises before and would like to go again, I also would like to go to Cuba, far east, where ever there's a bargain or a worthwhile special offer.

I'm available to travel most of the year but not for long, week or 2 each time.

I love to enjoy and explore places, meet people, try new things, I live in London.

Due to last minute sickness of friend, now finding myself alone. Maybe someone here would be interested in joining me. ideally female / non-smoker / not too worried about money!

Hotels / cruise booked. LA, USA ... 13th Feb to LA; 3 x nights in Santa Monica; 7 day cruise to Mexico (cabin share - Ocean View); 1 x night in Hollywood.. back to UK. Share costs. Message me if interested / available / could fund. Need eligibility for ESTA to enter USA. Only thing needed is to book new flight; name change for Cruise and off we go! I'm in Hants so we could meet up to see if we "gel" / compatible!

Anyone fancy a trip around India?

I have posted on Travelling Companion Wanted but thought I would repeat here. I’m presently en route to India (in Egypt) and will be arriving in New Delhi on 25th January (returning to UK on 22nd March from Trivandrum). I’m an elderly but enthusiastic traveller and backpacker (female) - hostels are a great place to meet fellow travellers but I would appreciate a companion for some or all of my time in India. At present nothing planned with all options open for discussion. If you fancy joining me at any stage, please let me know. I like to travel independently (have done for most of my life) so I’m happy to consider anything now or in the future.

Hi 'Maltloaf'
I think we've corresponded before, so thought I'd wish you all the best for 2019. Probably too far away from you, as I'm based in Surrey, but if you're ever down this way, would love to meet up.
Kind regards 'Beauty'

I've just retired (early) and one of my plans is to continue travelling, but on a budget. I'm a fit and active amd single 61 year old who likes to get into the natural world, happy camp outdoors, go on treks etc, but also like the luxury hotels from time to time. I have a friend or two who likes to come along, but as I've just retired, this will not be as often as I like. My next ventures will be in Africa and South America, but I also plan to buy a motor home and get out and about in the UK and in Europe. Anyone have a similar outlook to this?

Hello there!
I have a healthy 86 year old father who has travelled extensively and still going strong! He recently returned from a trip to the Galapagos Islands and in 2020 wants to take a 78 day cruise that leaves from Bristol on 6/1/20, which travels the length of Western Africa, South Africa and returns via the Indian Ocean visiting the Seychelles, Maldives and Sri Lanka. What a great way to avoid the British winter!
The trip for a single person is very expensive. However, if an inner twin cabin is shared it reduces the cost radically to £6,759 per person. He is looking to share a cabin with another who also seeks to avoid the British winter and see some beautiful places in the world.
if interested, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Cabins are going fast - which means the price goes up!

Caroline

Hi Anyone in the North West aged 60s-70s who is tired of traveling alone? I love holidays mainly to Europe and would love a friendly companion to travel with, share a drink and see the sights of wherever we may be! I live close Manchester Airport and go on a holiday around 6 times a year both UK based and Europe. Looking forward to any replies.

Hello Susan 1943, I would love to find a travel companion while I am fully able to take advantage of active holidays. I live in east Manchester and am handy for the airport by train.
I posted here in early March, I think it was. I f you feel like scrolling back that far!
This site is a bit of a handful, I'm not sure if they notify people who post on here.
I hope you find this reply, and look forward to hearing from you.

I want to go to New Zealand, Looking at February / March 2019

Probably away from the UK for about a month or two, I would like an organized tour for some of the time and then do my (our) own thing for about for 2/3 weeks. Does anyone want to join me for the adventure?
