Saga's perfect for Silver Surfers
Watch this postMy wife and I have recently returned from a cruise onboard Saga's new ship, Spirit of Discovery. This really is the kind of ship that would suit those who qualify as Silver Surfers and Saga are renowned for looking after every aspect for that age group.
Without further ado, here is the link to my review which contains over 90 photographs from both the ship and the itinerary... https://solentrichardscruiseblog.com/2019/12/17/sagas-spirit-of-discovery-16-night-cruise/ Over to you, it's worth a read.

This must suit a lot of people - everything laid on and organised, but we've always booked our own holidays and travelled, often with no real idea of where we were going or what we would do when we got there. Early and late season, we fly off somewhere and in summer, it's off in our campervan.
No idea where we're going in 2020 and we rarely book (if at all) more than a week in advance.
I think we are all now in the same boat for 2020 though we were most fortunate to have successfully taken two breaks before lockdown commenced. The January trip through Thailand and Laos was most exciting...

...while the February/March Caribbean cruise was an excellent way to visit 11 different islands in relative comfort...

Maybe we will have to bring forward our late-retirement plans now with virus restrictions and think about taking a look at our own country.
Best wishes, Richard
We were disappointed to have had to cancel our planned holiday to Vienna and Bratislava in march, but at least we didn't lose financially. Hopefully we'll re-book for early 2021. All our planned theatre visits were also cancelled - in fact all our plans were pretty well scuppered.
We love the freedom of the Campervan - we've had a series of them over about 40 years and it's becoming a very popular lifestyle. However, we are rather 'fair weather' campers and we have 2 or 3 holidays by air / hotel every year. In out late 60's we enjoy a bit of comfort too!
All the best for the rest of the year. Stay safe.
George.
I would appreciate some info from someone who has been there done that !!

There is of course a pecuniary advantage to being a shareholder as on booking a cruise there is an additional allocation of spending money (On Board Credit) which usually adds up to half a dozen bottles of wine.
