Nursing home depression

I've seen & visited people in nursing homes and can't help to think in 10 years from now I'll be going there

You don't have to judge a book by its cover. If a nursing home you've visited has disappointed you, it doesn't mean it's all the same. You probably had an unpleasant experience, but you have to give it another try. I know a lot of nursing homes that I appreciate for the professionalism they show, the care for seniors, and the activities they organize to make their lives more beautiful. My grandmother is cared for by a caregiver from https://homecareassistance.com/palm-beach who takes her to a nursing home every Sunday to have a good time, at board games, music shows, and so on. These places must be appreciated and helped with different funds.

Not all nursing homes are they same , research the ones in your area if you think this is where you are headed, however there are other options such as care at home and retirement villages. Some of us are lucky enough to have family willing to care for us. Whatever your circumstances forward planning will help you reach the correct decision for you.

Why can't we get the local authorities to plan 'Retirement Villages ' rather than these homes that are in the pipeline.

It could be a super place, all built with ageing in mind from the sprightly 60 to 90 plus. Special pool with lowering mechanism, cinema with individual earphone sound, small keep fit studio,
We could facilitate all types of disabilities and staff on call to assist. Unless we needed 24/7 care, where a special coloured ward section was positioned we would have our rooms with casement doors opening onto a designed high level garden circle, where we could plant flowers with out bending down.....I would suggest this is the way to plan for older people. Care Homes make us feel old, Retirement Village...thumbs up....dont you agree.
