Just joined

Hi Wow lots to look at here! Going to get a feel of the place before I fill out my profile. I am a 67yr young single female in Wisconsin but I would love to meet others from all over the place, this looks like a good place to do that. I am up for chat, emails, penpals , and phone calls. I am retired but struggling going out, getting out, not sure why so I am alone with my cat slot of the times. Looking forward to meeting some others!!!!

Hi TTT,
My name's Mark. I'm not in your hemisphere, I call the land down under home. Queensland more specifically! In a few days we'll be entering summer, a time where the temp stays around 33 degrees, so pretty warm.
By now you should be welcoming the first snow
feel free to email whenever you get the inclination
cheers

Hi Mark,
Never been down under but I wouldn't mind visiting, it seems lovely.
Yep we are heading into winter here.
I am already watching some Christmas movies here.
Holler back!

Australia is starting to hot up. Some parts of Sydney will hit 39 degrees today.. Brisbane is always warm so for us it's breakfast as usual.
All the shopping centers are festooned with over-the-top Xmas decorations and people are lighting their houses with Xmas lights. Funny thing is most people in the last census claimed no religious affiliation. Hey, a holiday is a holiday, right!
Cheers
Mark

Wow, I know retailers go all out to make money don't they?
Has nothing to do with Christ anymore and it is a shame!
I mean the retailers here are sometimes open on holidays and their employees have to work too!
What is it like where you live? Do you have a wife and kids?
Your profile doesn't say much about yourself, are you retired or working?

Hello PB!
Nice to meet you, where are located and what is your age if you don't mind me asking?
I think the older I get the harder it is to make and keep friends
Most of the women I meet already have a load full of friends, or are grouped up sharing an interest.
I am just feeling lost!! Sometimes I think I lost my HAPPY......if that makes sense.

Thank you for responding tot, I am 61 and I've finally decided to settle down in michigan.
I agree tot,it's so difficult when everyone else already has established relationships.
Ive tried to make friends in the past...but it seemed like they didn't want me there.felt like highschool all over again...I am glad you responded hoping we can continue to talk in the future

Oh, I love how you say you finally settled down in Michigan, was there a reason for that?
Were you living elsewhere?
I myself, can't find a place to settle down seems like I tap out and move between 8-10 yrs in a place maybe I think it will be better, or its just restlessness and moving on to a different adventure but I am independent and able to up and move.
Are you married? Children?
None here hence the independence!
I get the friend thing same here most of the time I feel like they may not want me around, and I even feel that within the church.
I do believe that could be true but I believe also that part of it comes from my thoughts and feelings of not being good enough, low self worth which I do suffer with.
Well, holla back!!!

Well previously I was bouncing around north texas here and there.I was also vanning around flordia for a short period of time.Ive visited ex-in laws in Quebec,Canada.Even considered living there multiple times...the plan never fell through though.
I did have a husband back in my early 30's. I was 26 when we first met... He was my brothers close friend. The moment i met him i started acting like a lovestruck fool.haha
I would beg my brother to let me accompany them whenever they would hang about.always trying to squeeze myself into their plans or conversations. Now that im older i still wish i could go back and slap myself for being so humiliating. Im sorry for rambling so much.
He passed just 7 years into our marriage. We never wanted OR had kids..although at times I do think what would've been if we did.
I never cared to get remarried,I did have 2 brief- flings before deciding I would rather just be left alone in that department.
I wanted to start completely fresh so I decided to move to michigan just a little bit before the pandemic started...got pretty lucky.
Hope that gives a little description about me...also my name is fionna 🙂

Hi Fionna,
What a beautiful name! I am Karen!
I really appreciate you because I am finding things in you that remind me of myself.
I was going to go back down south but unfortunately the housing is out of control so I decided to maybe try smaller towns.
I don't know where you are at but I just did a search on Kalamazoo, and a few smaller areas in Indiana. I need to live cheaper!
Did you know anybody where you ended up?
I met my ex thru his roommate and several months later we put everything in storage and travelled for a year in the back of an S10 pickup. It was the chance of a lifetime. After returning we kept travelling and started flipping houses.

Unfortunately after 18 yrs he met someone and therefore wanted a divorce.

I also tried dating but nothing serious, I truly think my self esteem and self confidence is just shot.

Well, today is Turkey day and I had been up all night and into the morning so I slept into the day today. I am alone so I don't do Holidays, but I do like to volunteer for non profits and such.

Well, goodnight for now!

My birthday just seems like the sword of Damocles Another year gone.
We have been developing rail trails all over Oz in recent years. They are a terrific idea.
Since getting back from South America I haven't done a great deal on the bike. I'd better shave and don the lycra before the really hot weather comes..
Good to see you like riding too. Nowadays I ride at leasure, no feeling the pulse then going he'll for leather. I enjoy the trip, the fresh air in what little hair is remaining, plus seeing places not experienced in a car.
Shouts of "get off the road you Bastard " are chimes to my ears.

Lol, and really funny as well. Love the humor!

Happy Birthday! What did you do for your big day besides write to me (wink)?

I love that you have a son, does that mean you are also a grandpa?

I love that you are a cyclist, I have done a ton of rails stop trails here in the states. They are old railroad beds converted to paths, some of them are crushed gravel and some of them are asphalt.

Its really hard to bike in town because drivers can be disrespectful but if you can find a couple country roads it is ok!

Hope you are having a great gobble day!
