I lost my husband in May . It was very quick he was not even poorly. I have been trying to cope but finding it very hard. My daughter lives with me houses very expensive around here. Im finding it hard. . She was very close to him and has taken it hard. Im 75 butdont feel it I had a hip op in Oct.and its knocked me back
I`m so glad you`ve found an outside interest for yourself. The Group you have joined sounds wonderful. I`ve been staying with my daughter, babysitting but when they move house next month I will be back home. There are lots of things I want to change in my house which will keep me occupied but I will also try and make time most days to get out and about. I too considered moving nearer my daughter but I have so much family around me that I`m staying put. Feeling a lot better too, still get a few bad nights though but learning to control them and remember happier times. Good luck to you too.
My husband died very suddenly at my feet. It was rather a shock to say the least. However you do have to get up and get on. Whichever way you choose is up to you. We all get by/through as best we can. Time accommodates. Just don't stay indoors and weep.
Put on you face and get out there. Hard if you are in a new place but possible.
What a coincidence I am going to see a medium later on this year with my sister too. We were going in January but the snow stopped us, I did wonder if it was a sign but we thought about it and decided we wanted to go and find out one way or the other. I do believe life goes on but would like to be told something only my husband could tell me.I`ll post on here when I`ve been will you too? xx
I`m sorry for your loss too. Why is life so cruel? I thought life got easier the older you got but when something like this happens you feel out of control. My family are amazing but the feeling of loneliness even in a crowded room is overwhelming sometimes. I have been thinking of writing things down but will I be dredging it all up again, I don`t know?
Since losing my husband I plucked up courage to join a creative writing group and it has helped. I did write about what happened at first, but now I write about all sorts of things. I gives me something to think about.
Another thing I do is by my bed I have a notebook and every night before I go to sleep I have to write down three good things that happened that day. Sometimes it’s something like seeing a beautiful sunrise while walking the dog, or having a nice meal. At the end of the week I can look back and think well maybe this week wasn’t so bad.
But that thing of being lonely in a crowded room is so true.
Know exactly how you feel - I lost my wife in December and it's hell on earth. This is not how I expected the future to be, she had only just turned 64 and died the day before my 65th birthday. It's very tough.
