Gk59 showcase imageThanks Wilf. I found it quite difficult to capture the bluebells in a picture, so I was pleased that this one came out so well.ViewDate:

Does anyone else have the gift of spiritualism? That’s very interesting Silversapphire49. I see number patterns too, but I had not linked it with physic abilities. When I had a landline telephone I used to know who was calling before I answered, and often I would know the phone was going to ring before it did. It doesn’t see, to work so well now I only have a mobile. I have foreseen certain events in my life, but not in other peoples’ lives.ViewDate:

Which Song Describes You?Good song, Whatsername. In fact, last year I might have even picked that myself.ViewDate:

The Red KiteA very moving story. It reminded me of my dear sister in law who spent her whole life in a wheelchair. I never once heard her complain about her lot. Your story made me wonder if she dreamt of being able to fly, to run, to dance. There but for the grace of God .....ViewDate:

Which Song Describes You?Let’s party! So what do you dance round the kitchen to? Today I’ve been dancing to “Living on the Ceiling” by Blancmonge, “Things Can Only Get Better” by D Ream, and “counting Stars” by One Republic.ViewDate:

Which Song Describes You?Interesting that, apart from CaroleAH, we’ve all picked what I consider to be sad songs.ViewDate:

MOVING HOME ALONE ......AND TO A NEW PART OF THE COUNTRYHi suffolknan I was widowed in 2017, and six months later decided to move from the family house we had lived in for twenty years, to another town. I felt I needed to move on, and my daughter was finding it hard being in the house with an empty chair where her Dad used to sit. Another reason for moving was to go to a newer property with less maintenance. We have been in the new home for nearly a year now, and I am very pleased that we did it. I am quite a shy person so I knew I wouldn’t be making lots of new friends, however I have joined a writing group which has given me lots of confidence as well as a new hobby. We have also found our neighbours to be very friendly (we are in a small close of just nine houses). I won’t pretend it was easy, I had a lot of sleepless nights worrying if I was doing the right thing, but now I’m glad it did it. I did a lot of reasearch into the area we moved to, and we saw a lot of houses before we found the one that was right for us. I would say take your time, do a lot of research and then you will find the right placeViewDate:

Calling fellow music lovers!Hi David, Music has played a big part in my life. One memory that makes me smile is trying to record the Top 20 on a Sunday night with a cassette recorder. Hoping Mum didn’t come in and start talking! Finger hovering over the stop button towards the end of the song, then over the start button. Hoping the DJ wouldn’t talk over the music!ViewDate:

NewboyHi Tezz I’ve been a member for a few days and have found lots of people to “chat” to already, and received some good advice too. Having been widowed only recently, (2017) I am still finding it difficult, but reading your post is very encouraging. I have joined a local Creative Writing group, which has been great for socialising but also very therapeutic. I might post a few pieces in the Showcase section and get some feedback! So impressed that you built your own house, that’s amazing!ViewDate:

GrievingHi Raindrop, Since losing my husband I plucked up courage to join a creative writing group and it has helped. I did write about what happened at first, but now I write about all sorts of things. I gives me something to think about. Another thing I do is by my bed I have a notebook and every night before I go to sleep I have to write down three good things that happened that day. Sometimes it’s something like seeing a beautiful sunrise while walking the dog, or having a nice meal. At the end of the week I can look back and think well maybe this week wasn’t so bad. But that thing of being lonely in a crowded room is so true.ViewDate:

MorningsYes I am very lucky that in five minutes walk, me and the dog can be in open countryside with big skies. A good sunrise can really cheer me up of a morning.ViewDate:

MorningsDefinitely getting lighter! I usually take the dog for a walk around 7.30 and it is really light by then. I really enjoy a crisp frosty morning walk when I can watch the sunrise, so I shall have to go out a bit earlier now! I’ve also noticed it is lighter in the evenings; it’s half past five and I’ve only just had to It the light on.ViewDate:

GrievingI lost my husband in October 2017, he was 58 and we were just about to retire to Devon. I am totally lost, and incredibly lonely. Even though my youngest child still lives at home she is out at work for long periods of time. I never envisaged being on my own and am finding it very difficult.
