Friends

Hi, I'm a retired female in my mid 60's and quite new to the Essex/Suffolk area, so looking to hopefully find some new friends. I enjoy walking, gardening, animals, crafts, days out and travel

Hello Rob, I'm so sorry to hear your mum recently passed away, it's always such a sad and difficult time for all the family, also so much to think about and to do.
I thought we were going to get some rain today to save me having to water the plants, but we may get some later on tonight or tomorrow. It seems to have turned quite autumnal all of a sudden.
Take care, and hope all goes well for you next Monday.
Bye for now,
Daisy

Oh, sorry, and Hi, Daisy. I also enjoy gardening. It's not as easy here in sub-tropical Belize as you might think, but would be happy to compare notes from well across the pond.

Hi, thanks for your message. I find this site a bit difficult to navigate, unless it's just me!
I live in Essex, and enjoy walking, gardening, animals, music, cooking, crafts and days out/holidays. It's stopped raining at last! Daisy...

I did send a chat message to you,not sure if you seen it? I agree its not the easiest site to use..perhaps we need to find another method???

Hi, sorry I didn't see your chat message - and no email alert re your message either.
It's not easy to find the right pages which you've looked at before here either, other than looking at your "history" page" - otherwise I'm lost!

My first ever car was an A35. I only had it for a year, but it was was such a great little car (1958) which cost me just £50! Wish I still had it really.

Hi again, funnily enough,I had an A30 last year, I bought from Clacton, she was called "Jane" (Austin), LOL,.gloss black with a grey flash, I took a friends son & daughter to their proms at The Mercury Theatre in Colchester..last summer that was fun. I sold it after I rewired & did some restoration work. Now have a Morris Minor Convertible in bits...Keep in touch, would be nice to chat a bit more..
Response from Daisymaisy Original Poster made on 1st Jun 2024 23:06:03
Hi, it's always such fun turning up at events such as "Proms" in these old cars, and "Jane Austin" sounds like she fitted the bill perfectly!
I remember the Morris Minor too, and also the Convertible - let me guess, is it light blue or perhaps green? Will you be keeping it once you've restored it, or perhaps you'll sell it?
My Austin A35 was grey with red seats, and if I remember I think it had the old fashioned indicators which popped out each side!
It's more like March weather than June!
Response from EssexRob made on 2nd Jun 2024 06:44:51 > @Daisymaisy
Hello again!
The Morris is "Old English White" (cream really) with a black hood. I will keep it for a while (I have a wedding booked in October this year.). Tell me more a about what you do with your "spare" time..
Response from Daisymaisy Original Poster made on 9th Jun 2024 23:09:13 > @EssexRob
Hello again,
Your old Morris sounds lovely being cream with a black hood. It sounds too nice to sell!
We've just been away to the Peak District, the weather wasn't too bad, although rather cold for June! Lovely walks around there which the dogs enjoyed too!
My spare time is mainly spent gardening, walking the dogs, cooking, days out, and holidays.
Do you/family have any holidays planned?
Response from EssexRob made on 10th Jun 2024 06:00:44
Family wise I have a Son & adopted Daughter both in their 30's (thats scary) I amon holiday to Weymouth next week on a coach holiday with Sunrise Direct, looking forward to getting away!! have you any planned..
Response from Daisymaisy Original Poster made on 12th Jun 2024 23:24:21 > @EssexRob
At least it was warm and sunny today (in North Essex) for a change, so I managed to get some gardening done, as everything seems to have grown like mad after all this rain!
It's certainly scary how everyone gets older and the years pass by!
I'm hoping to go away again soon.
Have a great time in Weymouth, and hopefully the weather will be better next week.
Response from EssexRob made on 13th Jun 2024 06:04:00 > @Daisymaisy
Hi Daisy, I will update on my return from Dorset, stay safe & enjoy your garden..forecast for Weymouth is a wet start, drying up midweek...lets hope!!

I agree -- this site seems difficult to navigate. They said it was intuitive; maybe my powers of intuition aren't up to snuff. Any tips anybody? Or are y'all just slogging through and getting more used to it?
