Friends and pen palsHi and thanks for your message! My dog is called Maisy, and I often call her DaisyMaisy! Maisy's a collie, and I also have another collie called Lucy Lou. Where about in the States are you? I live in SE England, although I'm from Wales. It's getting rather stormy here, with Storm Darragh heading our way Have a good weekend. GViewDate:

FriendsHello Rob, I'm so sorry to hear your mum recently passed away, it's always such a sad and difficult time for all the family, also so much to think about and to do. I thought we were going to get some rain today to save me having to water the plants, but we may get some later on tonight or tomorrow. It seems to have turned quite autumnal all of a sudden. Take care, and hope all goes well for you next Monday. Bye for now, DaisyViewDate:

FriendsAt least it was warm and sunny today (in North Essex) for a change, so I managed to get some gardening done, as everything seems to have grown like mad after all this rain! It's certainly scary how everyone gets older and the years pass by! I'm hoping to go away again soon. Have a great time in Weymouth, and hopefully the weather will be better next week.ViewDate:

FriendsHello again, Your old Morris sounds lovely being cream with a black hood. It sounds too nice to sell! We've just been away to the Peak District, the weather wasn't too bad, although rather cold for June! Lovely walks around there which the dogs enjoyed too! My spare time is mainly spent gardening, walking the dogs, cooking, days out, and holidays. Do you/family have any holidays planned?ViewDate:

FriendsHi, it's always such fun turning up at events such as "Proms" in these old cars, and "Jane Austin" sounds like she fitted the bill perfectly! I remember the Morris Minor too, and also the Convertible - let me guess, is it light blue or perhaps green? Will you be keeping it once you've restored it, or perhaps you'll sell it? My Austin A35 was grey with red seats, and if I remember I think it had the old fashioned indicators which popped out each side! It's more like March weather than June!ViewDate:

FriendsMy first ever car was an A35. I only had it for a year, but it was was such a great little car (1958) which cost me just £50! Wish I still had it really.ViewDate:

FriendsHi, sorry I didn't see your chat message - and no email alert re your message either. It's not easy to find the right pages which you've looked at before here either, other than looking at your "history" page" - otherwise I'm lost!ViewDate:

FriendsHi, thanks for your message. I find this site a bit difficult to navigate, unless it's just me! I live in Essex, and enjoy walking, gardening, animals, music, cooking, crafts and days out/holidays. It's stopped raining at last! Daisy...ViewDate:

TRAVELING SOLO AND LOOKING FOR A COMPANION?Hi Julz, I can understand with working full time, you never get enough time to do all the things you enjoy doing. Whilst I don't work, I still find time races along so quickly, and I never manage to get everything done. Although I was brought up living just a stones' throw from the seaside, I'm the same as you and would not like sitting on a beach (or around a pool) all day! I'm more for going exploring and seeing around the local area or further afield even. I take it you're not really into coach holidays!! I have very similar interests to you, and love animals (owned by 2 dogs), nature, wildlife, walking, also crafts, the odd theatre trip, day trips and gardening. Along with Austria, I've never been to Switzerland either - so much choice out there. I'll have to look up City breaks to see what's available. It's just started raining, so it'll be back to muddy dogs again! Have a good day.ViewDate:

TRAVELING SOLO AND LOOKING FOR A COMPANION?Hi Julz, thanks for your reply. I've never travelled alone either, but have thought about a coach holiday, I suppose you don't have to go on their inclusive trips out, although I expect you'd miss out if you didn't! Like you say, these solo holidays are quite expensive, although I expect you do get taken care of and everything is included in the price, and you're never alone. I haven't travelled a great deal, but went to Croatia last year. A city break somewhere for a few days would be quite nice, and I've never been to Austria so somewhere like Vienna sounds good. I've never been to Cyprus either, although I have been to Majorca (many moons ago!). Perhaps let me know a bit more about you - your interests etc? Kind RegardsViewDate:

Introducing meHello Val, Thanks for your reply. For some reason I didn't receive an email informing me I had a new reply here, and have just found it by chance when I logged in. I'm near Sudbury (Essex/Suffolk border) and have been here since 2017, having moved from NE Wales. I'm just hoping to make some new friends to chat with! Do you still get over to London? Since moving here I've been there just a couple of times by train, but of course Covid has put a stop to it - for now. Are you all ready for Christmas? Like you, I also enjoy looking at all the goodies in these Christmas fairs. Hope to hear from you. Best wishes DaisymaisyViewDate:

Introducing meHello Valla, I've just read your post and wanted to wish you a belated Happy Birthday! I put a post up here last week, but can't see it, so goodness knows where it's ended up - I'm not very familiar with how it all works! I live in East Anglia and am quite new to this part of the world, so just looking for new friends to chat to. I spend a lot of time gardening during the warmer months, but of course that's on hold now until next spring. I'm now doing puzzles, also the odd jigsaw puzzle, crafting (trying!) and walking each day. It's so nice to be retired and to just do your own thing! Have a lovely day.ViewDate:

TRAVELING SOLO AND LOOKING FOR A COMPANION?Hi Beauty, thanks for your reply. I'm quite close to Stanstead, so not sure it that would complicate things, seeing as you're further south? I'm hoping to take a few European breaks - cities and the coast too! I enjoy walking, gardening, crafts, days out, music and love animals.ViewDate:

Anyway if interested, do get in touch - I promise I won't just disappear!ViewDate:

Over 50 and tired of travelling solo? Find holiday companionsHi ThaiA - thanks for getting in touch. I just think that with you being in the States and me in the UK, it would be difficult trying to arrange a vacation, but hope you find your perfect travel partner! Not sure if you'll get this message, but I couldn't find a way to send you a personal reply - I find this site a bit complicated - or is it just me!!ViewDate:

Over 50 and tired of travelling solo? Find holiday companionsHi everyone, I haven't travelled very much, but with time rushing on by, I've decided I'd like to change that and just go places! Having recently moved to the east of England, I don't know many people, so it would be really good to find new friends and hopefully someone to travel with. I've just entered my 60's!!! A few ideas would be Portugal, Spain, a cruise, Scandinavia, Switzerland, Austria Canada, Australia - and of course open to ideas! Happy New Year and enjoy your travels.ViewDate:

GreetingsHello to you all.....I've just joined here and trying to find my way around! I'm not sure how to chat with people - so I thought I'd just leave a message here! I'm in my late 50's and living in N Wales, having previously lived in Scotland (although I was born and bred in Wales).... Thinking of retiring down South....Bournemouth sounds nice....but then there's Suffolk too - or perhaps back to Scotland again - so decisions to be made! Anyway I look forward to chatting with you soon.... Best wishes Elen :-)ViewDate:
