Embracing my fifties.. are you?

Hello, I'm new here, just thought I'd introduce myself, I'm Yvonne and I have just turned 50 on 25/09 and been having a crisis over it, until the day before my birthday and suddenly I was embracing it and looking forward to it, I keep saying I've been liberated (lol) but how liberated you can be when you're caring for an ageing parent on your own I don't know.. Anyhow if I can't get to the world I'm going to bring the world to me, and finding this site has certainly helped me make my first steps..

Good for you! Great to hear you're feeling so positive. I will be 50 next year, and can't say I'm feeling positive about it. I've 2 teenagers, plus husband, plus dog so am kept busy with them.

trust me I was not feeling so positive a few weeks ago, it was all about ... my life's over, I've no life, I'm not going to have a life, I've had to give up not only work for mum but now my life too, Mums housebound and so am I when do I get my life... Mums health has ruined my health and that's it, it's too late for me, 50 that's it, it's over.. lol..... Just suddenly when I reached a day or two before my birthday something in me changed, it was like stuff this for a game of soldiers I'm on top of this... Whether or not I get to go to bed before five in the morning or leave the house more than once in four days I am going to embrace this and make it what I want it to be or as close as damn it.. I think my dog is much happier now I've stopped stressing. lol

Hang in there. Life is for enjoying just need to take steps that one would not when one is a teen-ager. Life begins at 50 and ends when you forget
