Hello! I am currently owned by a 4 yr old Scottie called Lily. I've had Scots for the past 15 years after having all sorts of other breeds....Labbies, Chows, Belgian Shepherds.

Hello, I'm new to the site. I would enjoy chatting to everyone about yours and mine dogs. I have three rescued greyhounds, two are aged 8 years and one is 7 years. I am supporter of the Retired Greyhound Trust which is where I adopted my dogs from. Contrary to popular belief, once greyhounds stop racing, they don't require a lot of exercise, they are very much couch potatoes. They are very lovable dogs and mine are my best friends and companions.

I have a lurcher cross people ask me about excersising hershe has 2 30 min walks a day and does a couple of zoomies eats and sleeps lol

We have a 13 year old Border Collie, the best dog ever, so intelligent, can be a bit sensitive but very easy to live with.

Hello lovely to hear from you my two Border Collies are getting old now Rosie is 14 and suffers with her joints and irritable bowel, then I have Tuppence who is 13 and as mad as a hatter but they are lovely dogs, my last Border Collie lived till she was 16 , they are such intelligent dogs and very loyal.

I had a blue merle border collie rescue. She came to us at 3 years old and passed away aged 12, just 2 years ago. She was an amazing dog, so loyal and clever, best dog I ever had although I've loved them all.

We lost our two dogs, a goldie and a yellow lab in quick succession, it was awful, the house was so empty but we thought that we were probably too old to adopt again and to be honest though I really fancied a puppy I couldn't face all that toilet training. However we kept seeing animal charities asking for homes for older dogs so we got in touch with the Labrador Rescue Trust and eventually adopted a seven year old yellow lab. we're so glad that we did, my house might have an extra layer of dirt and fur but just the sight of that waggy tail greeting us first thing in the morning or when we get back from shopping makes it all worth while!

A house is empty once you lose your dogs, thank goodness you have another one to fill the empty space. And a rescue dog too, even better

We lost our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in June, three weeks later our other dog, a collie cross golden retriever, had a massive stroke, and now has lymphoma. She is 15, but up until then was going for 3 and 4 hour walks and still bounced around. She adored our little Cavalier, as we did. She is still with us, very cheery, enjoys short walks and eats for Britain! However! From bitter experience I know that the best way I get over losing a dog, is to wait a few months, and then think about another, my daughter feels the same, so we are hoping for a new pup each early next year. If Skye is still with us, judging by the way she greets other dogs, especially small ones, she will be thrilled too.

Hi , I have had dogs all my life and at the moment I have 4 dogs . Three of them are rescues ... a very elderly terrier cross, an elderly terrier/ corgi cross and a Tibetan terrier cross. Our other dog is a miniature schnauzer who thinks any household rules adhered to by the other dogs don't apply to her 'schnauzership '. ! I also help on a website for lost and found dogs. So yes dogs are a big part of my life x

My husband and I had Labradors for 26 years, but now I am elderly and don't have any animals. I really do miss them, but next door to me is a German Pointer who makes a great fuss of me, though he is very boisterous and I'm scared he might knock me over. He is bigger than me, I'm less than 5' tall. I have lots of lovely memories to look back on.

I remember every pet I've had with very good memories, the two I have now will be my last as I think I'm getting to old to look after anymore dogs but I will miss them when they have gone they were a life saver when my husband passed away

Hi Rosie.B How lovely to hear from you. My husband also passed away, just before our 58th wedding anniversary which would have been on Christmas Eve 2012. He used to walk the dogs we had, more than I did. Labradors tend to be big strong dogs, our first one, Carlo, knocked be down and sat on me. I miss the affection they gave, but would have difficulty if I had to walk a dog these days, bending down to pick up his poo, I think I would probably fall over into it. Which wouldn't be very nice. Carlo was a rescue dog.

Hello, lovely to hear from you my husband passed away I. 2012 as well in the February, he never walked the dogs as I was his carer for 6 years and the dogs kept him company when I had to pop out I had a bit of trouble with them after as they couldn't understand where he was, they were the reason why I got up in the mornings.

Yes I have a German pointer which is our third one and we are also looking after (permanently) our daughters French Bulldog as she has a one bedroom flat in London-we said "do not get a dog and hey presto she got him!. I love dogs. My parents 40 years ago had English setters who were beautiful but very dumb. One used to lay in front of their gas fire and turn orange with the heat-his hair was all singed-he was so hot you could not touch him but he took no notice at all!-just loved the heat!

Hello, lovely to hear about your lovely dogs, my Border Collies are getting old now Rosie is 14 and Tuppence is 13, Rosie has bad joints and she suffers from irritable bowel and can be quite poorly at times the vet tried different food to try and help her but nothing worked until somebody told me to feed her Chappie and touch wood she is doing well on it, over the years I've had other dogs I had a Jack Russell a miniature Poodle and another Border Collie.
