When we were young
When we were young
When I was small,the world was new.
An adventure to be had every day.
Playing with friends, laughing with friends,
hiding away until our mothers called.
Time for tea, bath and bed, prayers were said
and the day did end.
But tomorrow came and sun did rise and
we got together our little gang.
We roamed the fields, splashed in streams,
played hide and seek and made our dens.
We shared our sweets and secrets too.
Those innocent days of our youth.
