The Road

I run the long, long road
Wishing you here by my side
I walk when I can’t run but
You never seem to stop.
I try so very hard but your
Always out of step.
I’ve tried so many things but you always move away.
I try to reach for you but your a step ahead of me.
So I’ll look on from afar and make
My silent wishes
That one day you will see just what you left behind.
