The Mermaid
The Mermaid
Come swim with me the mermaid said
As she sat upon a rock
Her hair was crowned with coloured shells
And she flicked her silver fin.
I shall show you wonders of the deep not seen by human eye
Then we’ll watch the sea horse races and dine on fine seaweed.
We can watch the dolphins play and scare away the sharks
I will sing my siren song that no man can ignore
A song so sweet you’ll have to stay with me below the waves.
I turned away to leave this place but the song she sang was sweet.
I took her hand and left this land to live beneath the waves.
