Spider Season

Spider Season

Spiders amok, looking for mates
Better act now or they’ll proliferate
How to catch these long -legged blighters
I’ll have to become a kind spider fighter

Teetering on ladders with a jam jar
I think this kindness is going too far
The kind approach, I love the idea
But now I am overcome by fear

I may fall and seriously injure myself
By trying to reach behind the bookshelf
Before the cobwebs envelop my home
I’ll have to stop them before they roam

Spraying with lavender doesn’t work
They look at me with a menacing smirk
“Enough is enough,” I hear myself say
I’m whipping out the insect spray.

Sorry spiders, my way or the highway!
