Should the government take stronger measures to protect teenagers online through legislation?Meanwhile, the Chinese government is allegedly collecting all TikTok data while limiting it to its own citizens. What is disappointing, is the vileness exhibited by a large section of the human race. The safety of women, children and men is ibecoming increasingly dangerous, predators and bullies lurking in the shadows. Horrifiying to think AI is learning from these platforms.ViewDate:

Should the government take stronger measures to protect teenagers online through legislation?16 year old benchmark is too low, older teenagers and young adults are also being sucked into dangerous behavioural patterns. Since harmful content is being viewed constantly via cellphones, yes, ban phones during school hours and give your kids “dumb” phones to communicate. Parents need to step up, don’t just leave it to the government to protect your child. The adults in the room have allowed these poisonous social platforms and websites to flourish without thinking of the consequences. How many parents whose kids are locked away in their bedrooms actually know what their children are involved in online? It is time parents took a tougher stance. We have a generation who seem lost, mostly due to the growing number of pernicious social platforms and websites, but it is not only our young people who have a warped view of reality, adults too seem to be influenced by these deranged influencers. If it were up to me, I would ban poisonous Tik Tok immediately along with websites such as Incel, extreme porn and porn along with so called relationship guru’s. How else do we lure both youngsters and, sad to say, older members of society into the real world of human interaction? If a foreign power wants to destroy a society, this is how you destroy a society... from within.ViewDate:

U.S. is in for uncertaintyI don’t think the majority of people world -wide have ever been happy with their leaders as you so rightly say Papa Bear. BUT there is hope on the horizon. The World Economic Forum members suggest we do away with the human element and use AI to run societies, countries and ultimately, the world. Something to bear in mind before we rush into this, AI is programmable, so who will be programming AI in the future? This very interesting article on the World Economic Forum website (from 2018,) is an eye-opener and a wake-up call to us poor mortals who think the people we vote into power are really in power. https://www.weforum.org/stories/2018/10/could-robot-government-lead-better-current-politicians-ai/ AI has developed its own language to communicate, (gibber link) that humans are unable to understand, will humans soon become obsolete? David Cameron when questioned by another politician about his agenda’s, his reply was, “It’s a game, it’s all just a game.”ViewDate:

New FriendshipsSince your post in 2022 Relichunter, things have moved fast apace. How exciting to witness the safe return of the two stranded astronauts yesterday, Congratulatins to Elon Musk and his team at SpaceX for attempting and completing this daring mission. Rockets travelling to and fro in space is becoming the norm now and Elon Musk's vision of a colony on Mars is becoming a reality. There will be a caveat though, space and other planetary occupation will be hostile to humans. Radiation, zero gravity will cause havoc on the human body. I wonder how this will be dealt with and will human bodies evolve to adapt to the different conditions? Will humans end up looking like the greys?ViewDate:

Are avocados on your weekly shopping list? The UK consumption of avocados is approximately 1.71kg, per capita per year. Not a dire threat to the planet. I don’t buy or eat avocados but am intrigued by Alan Titchmarsh’s idea that cereals are more sustainable. If you compare an “avo“ for breakfast to the glyphosate and chemical cocktail laced wheat and grains in cereals, there is no contest. Cereal benefits are “enhanced” whereas avocados are natural. He speaks about the impending water shortage due to Avocado farms needs in the future. He should be more concerned with companies closer to home, such as Microsoft and the emerging use of AI, (Microsoft alone used approximately 1.7 BILLION OF GALLONS of water in 2022,) GOOGLE’S water consumption is mind blowing, they consumed 5.56 BILLION GALLONS. It will be AI and giant tech companies that will exacerbate the depletion of earth ‘s water resources, not the farming of Avocado’s. Self-appointed guru’s of fear porn like Alan Titchmarsh, (I wonder if he has shares in these cereal companies?) should be shouting from the rooftops about the latest act of decimation of the Amazon rain forest... to build a 4 lane highway. The highway will cut through a rich ecosystem and protected area of the Amazon for some 8 miles. Thousands of trees and precious plants will be destroyed. Animals will be displaced. Disgraceful! This highway will be used to ferry the 50.000 members of the 2025 November UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 30,) to a conference in Belém, on the dangers of climate change, REALLY?ViewDate:

Should supervised toothbrushing be the responsibility of early years teachers?Far too much government interference in schools. Teachers should be able to teach and not have to take responsibility for parents who are unable or unwilling to teach basic life and health skills to their children. I remember having a school nurse who regularly checked our hair for nits, maybe a school nurse should monitor children in the same way, and advise parents whose child needs to brush their teeth. There are responsible parents whose children have good teeth cleaning habits, so why the blanket advisory to further burden our already overloaded teachers?ViewDate:

Just for now that may be true, humans are panicking because the new quantum chip is doing very weird and frightening things, so they had to shut it down. The new and improved quantum chip with the lovely name of Willow, is too clever for us poor mortals to harness. Grok AI, new super chatbot makes it plain, humans will be irrelevant in the future, Forget the Asimov five laws, the gate to prevent AI from harming humans could be easily breached when they (AI) build a ladder to climb over it. This statement comes from Grok. Are we becoming the Eloi? We are the last race of pure humans!ViewDate:

Companion robotsYou are right zeitraci, there is no substitute for real human interaction. Sad to say, some people do not see or have a chance to talk to another human for weeks, months or even years. There are quite a few robots on the market who can hold a conversation with you, lightens up the day a bit. If only the government spent more on helping lonely people rather than using billions to prop up wars, it would be a better world. In the future, we will all have chips implanted and become "bots" ourselves, or rather cyborgs.ViewDate:

Is it time to make National Service mandatory?Yes, National Service should be mandatory, especially now. With war and threats of war looming ever larger, we need to bolster our forces to meet any threat. I wonder if most of the youngsters of today have lost their compasses? Lost and immersed in tick tock, and their addiction to various social platforms, leave them out of touch with reality. I think a change of life for them would be beneficial in more ways than one, they will know camaraderie instead of sitting at home with their parents. A new young tech savvy recruitment programme would be a great asset to this country. They will receive the very best in training and will have a better grasp of what life has to offer. The armed forces of today, is a far cry from the 50s, the use of technology, robots and drones have replaced some of the physical aspects of warfare and is also used in peacekeeping theatres around the world. The Armed Forces offer a huge range of courses to further education and careers, medical, engineers, chefs, technical, nursing, intelligence, etc: Discipline? Yes, some are sorely in need of discipline.ViewDate:

So blinding are some of the full on flashes, that I nearly had an accident. No more driving at night for me.ViewDate:

Would you support compulsory digital ID cards?Chilling forecasts from the very people who either invented or worked with AI Wilf. I watched Mo Gawdat, and yes, a warning. Geoffrey Hinton, the Godfather of AI and Nobel prize winner, also gives a chilling forecast and claims AI has already overtaken humans. It is too late to be worrying now, "the horse has left the stable." That AI is capable of lying and manipulating, gives me further reason to avoid giving my information to any AI models. But, I will have no alternative, because in order to live, I will be forced to enter the matrix where everything will have a digital footprint. Saying that, I suspect they know every little thing about me and the way I live,ViewDate:

Would you support compulsory digital ID cards? It is a little too late to be asking if we agree or disagree to compulsory digital ID’s. The plan is already being implemented under the UN sustainable development goal of Agenda 2030, across the world. As long as we are relying on AI and the enormous amounts of water and electricity that will be needed to run AI, is is an imperfect plan. Digital ID is not separate from the CBDC ( central bank digital currency) project, it is a global push for a new digital financial system where everything about you is collected in a digital biometric wallets. What you do, watch, eat, buy, engage in socially, your health and just about everything else, will be stored in the Bank of International Settlements. You may say that this could be a good move, have everything stored in one place, but some faceless globalist cadre could deny you your very fundamental rights to access services, food etc, thereby cancelling you as a human. China is way ahead of the game. Since FACIAL RECOGNITION cameras have quietly been introduced and are being used in our supermarkets and various other places, there is nothing private about our information any longer. A point to consider, a man who looked shabbily dressed was refused entrance to a supermarket because AI facial recognition considered he COULD be a shoplifter. Does that mean we will also need a dress code to go shopping in the future? Efforts to make digital ID as non-fungible tokens of Sam Altman’s open AI and his World Coin project to function on iris scans, is to give them the biometric credentials of your eyeball. The UN is already using this model for refugees receiving assistance form the World Food Programme. In order to buy food or receive their rations, they have to have their eyeballs scanned so that their purchases and information is then tied to their biometric wallets. It is named Building Blocks and is on Blockchain. Bad actors are just waiting to harvest all your private data. I could go on and on but suffice it to say, it is too late to stop the machine and pointless to ask us what we would vote on, it will happen anyway. Apologies for the War and Peace comment. :)ViewDate:

Do you support the introduction of a bottle-return scheme?Yes, it makes sense to me, glass bottles and containers were used in the past and should be brought back in use… the sooner the better. I remember my mother putting Tizer bottles in a crate by the front door to be collected, as were milk bottles that were washed and put out for the milkman to be reused. As kids we happily collected empty bottles to make a bit of pocket money, sort of glass bottle Wombles. We managed then, so what is the problem? We have a milkman who already delivers milk in glass bottles, it’s not a problem to wash and return them. Who knows, maybe new small businesses will spring up to collect your glass? Plastic is a malignant curse on not only the environment, but on the health of humanity. Microplastics are in our food, in our bodies, brains and cells, and in the very air we breathe. Devastating that microplastics have been found in foetuses. Scientists have found BPA in plastic containers are a probable human carcinogen. It is practically impossible to buy food that is not in some kind of plastic container. Opposition critics and the “fat cat” corporations who have been riding high on profits made by pushing the plastic agenda in our foods and water, should be brought to book for the destruction they are causing. Bring back glass! -
