Poetry, Not In Motion
Poetry, Not In Motion
I’ve lost my poem writing mojo
I don’t know how it occurred
Far too many months have flown by
And I’ve not penned one single word
My thought process has dried up
Can’t get my poetry brain into gear
Will I ever write another
It’s a possibility, I fear
There is no end of subject matter
That should encourage me to write
Some meaningful, some light-hearted
Much to wet my wordsmith appetite
I read the works of other poets
Hoping to make my juices flow
But once again there is nothing
Back to square one, status quo
I’m never usually lost for words
Perhaps I need a magic potion
A special prose elixir
To restore my poetry in motion
Writing poems is such a pleasure
A hobby I’ve enjoyed so very much
I can’t see a rhyme nor reason
For why I have lost my touch
Maybe I shouldn’t really worry
I should just relax, give it more time
And hope that one day very soon
I’ll get the urge to write again in rhyme
