Kes's bio
I love to write the odd poem when inspired by some event or happening in my own life or that of my family and friends. I usually just write poems for my own pleasure, but I have enjoyed sharing a few of my efforts on Silversurfers and have received some wonderful comments from the community. I enjoy watching Rugby Union. I call myself a 'Hobby Colourist' and enjoy the work of the inky black and white artist Johanna Basford, and I also dabble in photography, in a very amature pastime kind of way. -

Do you think winter fuel payment should be means tested?Starmer and his cohorts said, many times over, in the election run up, that there would be NO Tax or NI or VAT increases for ‘Working People’. Were people not understanding the impact of that so called Labour promise. Those of us who are Retired Pensioners/Seniors, who are not ‘Working’ and there are millions of us, are going to be taking the hit for everything. The Winter Fuel Allowance scrapping is just the start of fleecing us to the bone.ViewDate:

We Can't ImagineYour poem is deeply poignant. You are so right. We really can’t imagine, but we must keep remembering. Our debt to all the fallen and to all the survivors, can never be repaid.ViewDate:

Lockdown Dog For SaleBrilliant poetic tail. Pardon the pun. We don’t have a dog. My brother has an adorable chocolate brown cocker spaniel who is 18 months old. We see her a lot and occasionally she comes to stay with us. We get all the pleasure, excepting the poo, with no expense. We miss her when she goes back home.ViewDate:

Do you think money skills should be taught in school?I answered ‘yes’. I started to learn about money in my primary school. That was at the time when we had a school bank, Someone from the local bank came into school regularly, and we could open a bank account and pay in, and learn how banks worked. I don’t suppose this happens these days. I think responsibility for this learning should begin at home. My parents helped me to understand about money, finance and commerce and it gave me a good grounding for life.ViewDate:
