Never Truly Alone

Never Truly Alone

My mind wanders to yesterday
As I sit here alone sipping my morning tea
That message: that you sat there alone drinking your coffee

I cried, not tears of sadness but tears of pride
I’ve always tried my best to be your guide
So proud of what you have overcome
To go out there on your own my girl; my number one

Now it’s time to spread your wings a little further each day
Hold your head high and smile. I know great things are coming your way
When you are comfy on your own but can let others in
You know that life is going to be a win, win, win!

So join the clubs, go out for that meal
Release that smile, that zest, that zeal!
Remember you really are worth knowing
And your confidence will keep on growing

I'm a 56 year old Mum of 2. I enjoy writing poetry about my first hand experiences. My parents both passed away within 5 weeks of each other and with the help of a dear friend John I was able to visit my Dad's family home in Ireland. I have a sausage dog aged 6 who is partly disabled after being paralysed 18 months ago. Thankfully he can now wobbly walk after a long period of rehabilitation. I also enjoy gardening and going to concerts and eating out with friends and family.
