Nerves

I am about to join the local magic circle, I have never been so nervous in my life. I practiced 3 stunning tricks to impress the judges. All 3 of these tricks could go wrong because the are mentalism magic….Before I got on stage the sweat was pouring off me….you can’t exactly practice mental magic. You have to rely on knowledge, skill and a load of waffle.

I was frog marched from the cafe I was sat in waiting my turn, the door opened  I was introduced and was on stage in front of my peers…..

I looked around for a friendly face or maybe it was an exit door I was looking for. I took a deep breath, rattled off a great one liner and they fell about laughing. Phew, now for the magic.

Asking for a volunteer was easier than I thought. We said hi and carried on with the mentalism. It went like clockwork…the volunteer sat down during the applause and I carried on. One more funny then my best bit of magic.

The applause was deafening for such a small crowd of judges. I was a hit…

I practically floated back to the cafe, gulped a large coke and waited for the judges decision.

I passed the audition…..I have swum with sharks, climbed mountains, bungee jumped etc etc etc but this takes the biscuit. I have never felt so relieved in my life that its over.

Phew …. now think of a number between one and ten…
