PaintingHi, just like you Terry, got the painting bug on a cruise, started with watercolours then moved on to acrylics.I paint about 2 or3 times a week,send some to painters on line web site and get the appraised or not!. Quite often i paint something then throw it away.if i feel it needs another attempt i will slow down and do it again...Biggest lesson i have learnt is "BUY QUALITY PAINTS". Stargazing. ....cosmologyWent to local astrononmy club in the village ladt week for the first time ,loved it, they made me welcome and allowed me to use their telescopes and binoculars. Saw the moons craters close up and the red spot on Jupiter. Loved it, going again next month.ViewDate:

Anyone interested in paranormal experiences?No such thing!!!!!!!!. Just watched documentary on aliens, thats just as bad. This man got attacked by aliens, funny realy cos everytime someone sees an alien or ghost they are all alone or with friends,never other strangers.There is an american called James Randi,hes offering $2 MILLION dollars if you show him a ghost......will you be emailing him?????ViewDate:

Getting started in AstronomyWent to an Astronomical meeting last week in Beverley. BRILLIANT!!!the club made me welcome from the start. Got offered tea and bikkies, they were very welcome because it was freezing.Entered the raffle, won a book!. Then went into the garden of the meeting place. Lots of telescopes and binoculars were set up,some looking at the moon,my favourite, others pointing at Jupiter which was just rising around 8.45....Saw the red ring on the planet,daft as it seems it was quite moving.....Moved on up the garden to look at the craters on the moon,stunning, so clear,i was too excited to go in for another cuppa.Going again in March.if anyone wants the address of the club let me know,ViewDate:

The great escapeBored!!! Bored, heard that twice yesterday,let me tell you how my morning went, got wrapped up,walked down the street spoke to two neighbours i have never met,walked 300 hundred yards on th e msin road looking at peoples gardens,tut tut some are a real mess, passed an allotment, looked at the o ions/sprouts growing,tslked to one of the growers,he offered me dome sprouts,i declined but it wad nice of him. Saw the local church all lit up by the morning sun,horses running round in the fields.....Reached the village, peered into shop windows,bought a ooly hat from the red cross because my head was freezing .Read the adverts in the local sweet shop,got some advice on my computer from the electrical shop,bought wife a bar of chocolate from the post office ,yeh i am a big softy. looked in the art framing shop window, £30 qiid for a painting i could do better....then began the gentle stroll home dsying good morning to several other walkers which in time i may strike up a conversation with. Reached my house 55 minutes later,had a well esrned cup of coffee the then went swimming/sauna and a natter to the locals who visit the pool daily. Bored, not me. Drove to the seaside,had fish and peas,a brisk walk,on the prom and drove home. Got my paints out, rattled a masterpiece of got it ready to sell in that art shop. Watched countdown, got one or two 7 letter words, cooked tea,had a nap.... I could go on and on but thats for another day. Dont get bored, get occupied.ViewDate:

Will you be making a romantic gesture on Valentine's Day?I know its a day early but this morning i walked into the lounge grinning like a cheshire cat and presented my wife with a boxed card, normslly its one from pound shop.....then gave her a coffee mug with mickey mouse on it which she loves,then in all its glory a pandora silver heart. She was nearly in tears.Just as she was going out the back door with our neighbour shopping she said,"do us a favour, wash the kitchen cupboard doors,wipe the kitchen floor and tidy your man cave....I hope she brings me a nice pressy back cos ive still got the reciept from pandora!!!!!!!ViewDate:

Where to find the best afternoon teaThe Ravenscar hotel near Scarborough is value for money old fashioned tea & cake for only £ 3.50. Fantastic surroundings. Great views outside or in winter sit by a log fire in a chesterfield chair. Very civilised!!!ViewDate:

Does making new friends get easier or more difficult as you get older?I go swimming twice a week at the local hotel,i spend at least 45 mins in the spa pool.people come and go during that time but eventually it narrows down to a select few that you converse with znd get to know them very well,you know their family you share their holiday stories ghey eventually get cslled friends...ViewDate:

Are you feeling happier as you get older?When you have worked for lots of years and had only one day off a week for twent years you cram dverything into that day......now i found new websites like this got train / bus passes for days out. Bought a quad copter (drone). Bought fantastic magic tricks,go remote control boating,bought another camera and enter competitions, nap on the couch but it was on the sun lounge today, booked a cruise,just got in from the casino with a few quid in my pocket.that bit doesnt happen very often though,enjoy my garden,growing herbs, swim 3 times a week.
