Life Saver

Did you save a life today
When you knocked a neighbours door?
They may have been just wondering
If life’s worth living anymore

Did you save a life today
When you smiled at the passer-by
They were feeling really lonely
But your greeting stopped them cry

Did you save a life today
When you let that car come through?
The aggressive looking driver
Wasn’t so sad after passing you

Did you save a life today
When you lifted the pram down those stairs?
The new mum looked so desperate
But you showed her someone cares

Did you save a life today
When you reached to get some biscuits down?
The little old lady felt so helpless
But you managed to remove her frown

Did you save a life today
When you telephoned your mum?
Two minutes after chatting with you
She didn’t feel so glum

These are all examples
Of what I’m trying to say
That small random acts of kindness
Really can go a long way
