Happy New Year 2025

We have reached the end of another year
Will you celebrate with a whoop and a cheer?

Let us reflect on the twelve months gone by
On the good and the bad and the reasons why

Perhaps you had made a New Year’s resolution
And completed it quick or are nearing conclusion

Perhaps you survived a terrible disease
And are recovering now but with no guarantees

Perhaps not you but a loved one who’d been ill
And you’re thankful for their determination and strong will

Perhaps you achieved your health and fitness goal
Or have a happier outlook with body, mind and soul

Perhaps you worked hard and landed your dream job
Or escaped the rat race which had made you sob

Perhaps it was financial and you had a huge win
And now you can’t believe the life your living in

Perhaps it was emotional, you found the love of your life
Maybe you’ll soon be a perfect husband and wife

Perhaps a new baby gave you the gift of parenthood
And your heart’s overwhelmed with everything that’s good

Perhaps it was small like baking a perfect cake
Or sinking your teeth into the tenderest fillet steak

But sadly perhaps you’ve had a terrible year
Full of negatives and sorrow, bad luck or fear

I hope you can be grateful for making it through
And that wonderful things are coming to you

Whatever you are thankful for remember how it felt
And be grateful for any positive cards you’ve been dealt
