A DEVOUT OLD LADY somewhat confused

A DEVOUT OLD LADY somewhat confused

Lord God, my mind’s confused of late;
I find it hard to keep things straight-
Forgetting things too easily,
I’m not sure where I ought to be.

It’s Dr Prince—she’s eighty three,
Has trouble with her memory.
Walked here to Church- thought it was Sunday,
But it’s Children’s Corner Monday.

Don’t think we need to call the cops.
Maybe a taxi would be tops?
Anyone go back her way?
Address is in her bag they say.

Guide Thou my thoughts, and calm my mind;
The tangled skein of thought unwind.
What matters it, if God, who cares
Accepts my muddled thoughts as prayers?
