Do you like to use emojis when sending messages?I love words, and I know a lot of them. Emoji's are not nearly subtle enough to express what I feel, and I never use them. Has anyone ever tried to write a poem with nothing but emoji's? I don't think it would even be amusing.ViewDate:

RainI wrote a version of this for an FB group I belong to: and posted it on Women on Barges. As you may know many big rivers in Europe have been badly affected, and our WOBS are battling to stay safe on their boats. I wanted to express my concern, and it was well received.ViewDate:

Have you fallen victim to a scam?I fell for a scam that was supposed to protect and clean up my laptop, and keep it safe indefinately for £700. The so-called "tech" had to be allowed into my computer, he did this almost every night and spent the time trying to get me to buy gift cards, and many other ways of getting cash, all involving copies of my passport, and many other documents. After two months I felt really harassed and realised it was a scam and stopped my credit cards, but too late to stop him forcing me to buy a £700 gift card, which was eventually refunded as I bought it under duress. These people are extremely persuasive and credible. I never got back the original £700. Thank God I do not bank on line, or he would have cleaned me out.ViewDate:

Have you been affected by the shortage of HRT products? We are all different, and react differently to things. A bit of positive research instead of perpetual scaremongering wouldn't hurt.ViewDate:

Have you been affected by the shortage of HRT products?I am one of the few people who have fought for continuing HRT long after the menopause. Over the years opinions have gone this way and that about its effects; I am still taking it at 90 years old, and I believe it has a lot to do with my well being, which is regarded as remarkable for my age. I still shop, cook and look after myself, get myself around by bus if I can, by taxi if I can't. I need no carers and go to the surgery once a year for my flu jab. My immunity system seems very strong. My BMI is perfect, and I enjoy food and drink. I have no aches and pains unless I do something silly. After my (online) supplier let me down completely and I missed a whole month I changed suppliers and had to accept replacement patches for my usual ones. no ill effects. Now we are back to normal. I look in vain for research into HRT for the wellbeing of the elderly, but no one seems interested.ViewDate:

Armistice dayMy father was wounded in WW1 in Belgium and again on the Somme, but his mental health remained good, This poem was for those suffering from PTSD. We had one such in the family, my father-in-law, a brave man with many awards; a skipper-lieutenant in the Royal Navy in WW2. PTSD was ill understood in the 1950@s and he never got adequate treatment. LaurelC.ViewDate:

Make your food last longer with these hints and tipsThis is useful. Now that we don't eat so much there's always leftovers, and veg and fruit is often sold in packages that are too large for us. I often freeze the second half of what I cook, remember to LABEL IT CLEARLY or you won't know what goodies you've got! -
