A Single White Feather
A Single White Feather
A single white feather, I saw again today,
Exactly a year since you went away,
My heart still aches, never knowing when I’ll cry,
I still look for your face when people pass me by,
A single white feather all alone on the ground,
No longer lost now that it’s found,
You said you’d never leave me, but you had no choice,
Now I’m just me and we’re no longer us,
A single white feather is all that it takes,
To give me some comfort because my heart still breaks,
Little signs you are with me, I’m often aware,
Is it silly superstition, or are you really there?
A single white feather helps me to cope,
With losing my darling and giving me hope,
So, I’ll choose to believe that each time I see,
A single white feather, you are walking with me.
