Pretty little Snowdrop

Pretty little Snowdrop

Winters blanket, shrouded, cold and grey
Bent over with cold we meet the day
Bleak stark trees, waving empty limbs
While buds lie waiting for spring to begin

The snowdrops care not for snow or cold
They reach out to the sun, so fragile, so bold
Little heads nodding in a carpet of white
In woodland and hedges, a beautiful sight

Ah little snowdrop, what joy you bring
How did you know that it will be spring?
Such wonders mother nature displays
Each year, when it’s snowdrops birthday
