I’m stepping off the treadmill
I’m stepping off the treadmill
I’m stepping off the treadmill.
I really have had enough.
I don’t want to compete,
Decode that Spreadsheet.
I don’t want to repeat the same stuff.
I don’t need that promotion.
And put forward a motion
At conferences by the sea.
I want to retire,
Write books and admire
Sunsets, the colour of fire.
Hear music, take walks,
Meet people and talk.
There is much to do
‘Fore I go.
I’ve missed out so much
So what’s left I will touch,
And grab what is left of my life.
