Swallows Return
Swallows Return
As we emerge from the long dark days,
Blinking, confused, still in a haze,
Dealing with loss, and sadness, regret;
So many targets still unmet.
Could it be that there’s hope ahead,
Ambitions and dreams are not quite dead.
The snows are gone, the sun is warm,
Maybe we’ve seen the last of the storm?
We’re able to meet our friends again;
Holidays? Maybe? where or when?
This week, at last, the seasons turned;
Rejoice, the swallows have returned.
