Tough Balance
Watch this postSince moving in with my daughter and her family- the most difficult adjustment is the boundaries that are both clear and unclear - do I just let things go by if discipline is indicated or even if the kids are clearly out of control or do I just grin a bear it?
I love my daughter and family intensely but her and my son in law give me mixed messages re my role with the kids. I am doing better but all my years of being a practising psychologist get thrown out the window when this ambiguity exists. I shall prevail lol.

It could take you all time to adjust the new status quo. These adjustments will also be difficult for your daughter and her husband as well as you. Try to relax and enjoy your new way of living.
My daughter, her husband and young son moved in with me for 6 months when they came back from living abroad until their new house was ready. We always go on well but I admit the first few months were so very stressful. Trying to let them lead their lives their way but also sharing my house was difficult at times. Our relationship survived.
