Getting older…
Getting older…
We’ve been together for 60 years,
Plenty of laughter, not many tears
Together we’ve been through a lot,
sad to say, he’s now losing the plot!
His short term memory has upped and flown!
He’s now much happier staying at home.
Familiar routine makes for an easier life,
but I look after him, I’m a loving wife.
We married very young, in 1963,
Pledging our love, him and me.
So many hopes, so many dreams,
The years have gone fast, so it seems.
We vowed to be together in sickness and health,
worked hard for our kids to make a bit of wealth.
Now in our very own twilight years,
We still have laughter, no time tears.
You have to find humour wherever you can,
And he is very funny, this confused man.
I look after him, like he would do for me.
Just love each other, it’s quite easy you see.
