It’s official - silver surfers love Facebook!Life has changed for many of us during the Covid pandemic. We have become older, maybe not so agile, many 0f us have lost loved ones, but life goes on and we must make the best of what we can. My own life has changed, my husband of 59 years is suffering with short term memory problems, having tests and assessments at the moment to see what kind of dementia it might be. I have had two close family members pass away, and one friend, two friends have moved away to live closer to family, two friends have returned to work, two friends have become anxious and rarely leave the house, another friend is tied up looking after grandchildren, whilst another friend has a very ill husband too care for, and my kids and grandchildren are all busy at work. I found myself fretting and not sleeping, worrying about what the future held. But I have picked myself up and become my usual proactive self, and feel much better for it. On the afternoons that my husband is playing golf, I will continue being a volounteer litter picker, and I will keep going to my aqua aerobics class and swimming session once or twice a week. I have joined a book club who meet up once a month. I've become a volounteer at the local church hall, where twice a month they run a cafe/social club for dementia sufferers and their carers, plus I've joined the scrabble club though the U3A, which meets once a month. I used to write a lot of poems, but lost my mojo, maybe it will come back with more activities to stimulate my mind. So please don't sit at home there's still plenty of life out there, just think about what you enjoy and go look for it !ViewDate:

Win an All-new Kindle Paperwhite, Waterproof eReader, 6"I would love to win a Kindle, I enjoy reading and it would be good to have all my books in one easy lightweight place, instead of having to carry several when going on holiday. Plus I'm finding it more difficult to hold the heavier books with my athritic thumbs. Another bonus is that if I was awake and reading at night I wouldn't need my bedside light on which disturbs my husband. A great prize for one lucky winner.ViewDate:

Win an All-new Kindle Paperwhite, Waterproof eReader, 6"I read quite a lot, usually library books, a kindle would be so much better, all your books stored on one small light price of equipment. Plus on sleepless nights I could read without disturbing my husband by having to,put on the light.ViewDate:
