Things learned from researching my tree:
My Gt Grandfather was an engine driver. He was in prison for 7 days being drunk and disorderly and again for begging.
My Gt Uncle died when fell from the back of a fire engine.
A distant relative was murdered and thrown down a mine shaft.
A Gt Uncle Henry had a brick works and left £48,00 in his will in the 1800’s giving blankets for widows and boots for orphans.
A relative served hard labour for stealing 2 pieces of wood and one piece of coal.
In the 1800’s it was against the law to pose as an Egyptian.
When cousins marry it makes a very complicated tree.
When John is the most popular name it makes a very complicated tree.
In the 1800/1900s it was very easy for men to place their wives in an asylum and forget about them.
It was very tough back in the day so thumbs up for Grt Uncle Henry, but who would need to pose as an Egyptian ???
