Hello from a Silver Surfer
Watch this postHi, Well I suppose I qualify as a silversurfer, Although more grey than silver unless the sun is shining on my gradually thinning hair.
I never got on a surfboard but have been "surfing" the net for some years. This is the first time that I have posted on a chat site. I have read chats from people who are lonely and seeking pen friends both in the Uk and abroad.
I am happy to penfriend any who respond. I am not lonely, I have a wonderfully supportive wife and I must say we have been extremely fortunate in our "second" life together, We live in a beautiful part of the country although looking out of my window this morning all I can see is the rain, grey clouds and a grey blur where the sea should be.
We moved to Bournemouth nearly twenty years ago and to be honest we made acquaintances when we joined clubs, classes etc. but no new friends. We actually made more friends when some years ago we started travelling to Spain for the winters. Over the years we have made friends but they like our family all live miles away. Hooray for Whats App and Face time. It is not unusual for us to spend the morning "virtually" in New Zealand and the evening in France.
Yesterday we were chatting to friends in Spain and today hopefully we will "visit" Southampton and all while we are quarantined at home after our return from lockdown Spain. Hobbies, yes a few, cooking, walking, singing, but getting tired of "choir" practices.
I play the guitar but this year due to illness and a major operation I have started learning to play the Ukelele as it is easier to handle.
I would love to hear from anyone who feels life is to be lived and makes the most of what they have got rather than hankering for "greener grass".

I also need the warmth which is why I now winter in Spain, I normally go from the end of September till mid April, this year we were out in February and locked down untill last week.
we are now waiting to see what Brexit does for that.
If you want to escape the winter blues when you do start to fullfill your plan I recomend southern Spain. Most of the "Brits" over their who still have their get up and go.
