Virus 2020…..

Virus 2020….

In this time of want and greed,
Please just buy what you need,
The shops have enough for us all,
Stop stock piling, you don’t need more.

Our parents and grandparents, had it tough,
In days of war, there really wasn’t enough,
You had meagre rations to see you through,
You made do and managed, that’s all you could do.

They suffered great hardship with the bombs
Many lost loved ones and hundreds lost homes.
No social media or telephones to keep in touch,
Our elder generation suffered so very much.

Black out curtains, the radio for the news,
The men were all away fighting the Huns.
So spare a thought for the older ones now,
Be kind, be generous, I’m sure you know how.

This virus will not last for ever, it will go away
We will live well again, kids will go out to play.
The human race can and will see it through,
So love and keep smiling, the best we can do.
