Where rivers meet and mountains rise

Where rivers meet and mountains rise

I worship by the river where the ripples chase the reeds
and the heron waits in silent prayer for a fish among the weeds.
I have no need for doric arch, the willows arch my path,
no need for ornament of gold nor threat of saviours wrath.

I have a very gentle faith with no ritualistic creed,
it’s simply this, hold nature dear and this good earth has all you need.
The mountains form my altar screen as red kite soars overhead
and sunsets stain the evening sky, burnished copper, ruby red.

The night sky as black as colliers gold, the diamond glow of stars.
I’ll give thanks at Mother Nature’s church for this precious land of ours.
