Remember

Remember

Silence, that’s what I can’t get used to.
No guns, no bombs
No screams from the wounded.
No shouting, no over the top lads.
It’s peaceful.
I can hear the birds song.
I listen to the leaves rustling.
Barbed wire creaking in the wind.

It’s over, it’s finally over.
What will home be like
Will they believe us.
My eyes can’t see, I’m blind.
What does my future hold
Who will care?
Who will remember?
Will you?
