Spring is on the way
Spring is on the Way
When Spring appears, there’s no more showers
as Cuckoo arrives to clear its throat,
Warm earth brings forth awaited flowers
in once dark places, so remote
Which now light up with daffodils
down in the valleys, on the hills
Rustling new leaves of nearby trees
now filled with birds singing their song
They’ve not been here all winter long
yet settle back with greatest ease.
The Lilacs of purple, white and blue
hiding among the heart shaped leaves,
Bluebells peep out flowering anew
through skeleton leaves it interweaves,
The spikes of the crocus poking out
to grow alone, not tall but stout,
Small hungry beak pops up from nest
with snow long gone, no more the frost
return of foliage once thought lost
Spring is now back looking it’s best.
